Hey SDS,
Can you make the LS cards relevant again?
What am I talking about here?
Well, as you all know, unless you're good at working the market, get good pulls, or you pull out the old credit card; a majority of players don't finish the LS Collection until the game has been out for 5-6 months.
By then, there are so many other cards available that those LS players, albeit for IE, are pretty useless. (Safe a few higher Diamonds).
Plus most of the players you get for completing the collection arent even usable.
But what about Soriano, Ortiz, and Chipper?
Those three can still be useable; but for how long?
How many players still have one of those three in your Main lineup?
How many players still use one of the other Collection rewards on a daily basis?
How many people still use LS players on a Daily basis?
Unfortunately, with all the cards (which is a good thing) SDS releases; the LS players aren't used much.
Is there anyway that you can think of that can rectify that situation?
-
Chipper is still in my lineup and P5. Soriano and Ortiz never saw the light of day unless I had a daily mission with Nationals or Red Sox. I used LS Trout long enough to get him to P5 and I used LS Tatis Jr. and LS DeGrom. That's about it.
-
Why do they need to be relevant? They're Stock parts. You use them to get better parts. Once you have better parts you sell them.

Can't sell them. You have to lock them in to go forward.

You've never pulled a live series card again after locking it in for a fancier shinier new toy?
-
They could release garbage versions of cards. But then everyone complains that there aren’t super versions (see Puckett, Kirby)
Inside Edge and paralleling is about the best they can do.

Of course but the way your statement read didn't sound like pulling the card again. I always sell duplicates

If Live series are more relevant, there is less reason to upgrade a team, so I doubt SDS will work to hard on that
-
LS cards are still very relevant if you play BR. Other than that they shouldn't be. Cards from nearly 10 months ago shouldn't be relevant today. There would be no progression or something to work for. For collections David Ortiz and Chipper are still very useable today. Actually some of the most used cards in the game were LS cards if you look at parallel numbers.
-
Yeah, I know from a business model it's beneficial to release better cards.
And I understand the team building aspect of the game.
It's just that if you don't luck out/work the market; buy the time you finish the LS Collection; most of the rewards are replaceable.
At least you can still use them if you want a change of pace.
-
I think the only way to make them relevant is to require you to have them to get better versions of that player as a collection requirement. You need LS Trout to get Finest Trout for example. This will never happen and LS cards are only useful at the beginning of the game and for events.

Same. Even got LS Lindor to P4, despite him getting his Diamond status dropped to Gold.

I pulled Lindor in my early access packs. He was an 87. Got him to P5 but he kept dropping and ended as an 81 geez

For awhile there I thought he was going to end up as a bronze. I am not sure how low he got to, but it had to be lowish silver. I had a similar story with Yelich who was a super early diamond pull for me and I used him a lot.

Why should they be anymore usable than they really are. Your argument is based on the premise of you being to lazy to learn how to make stubs in this game. And I’m sorry to use the term lazy but if you choose to not understand how to use the market to benefit you than to me that sounds like laziness. This game does a good job at giving away content and even if you choose to not learn how to use the market you can put together a rather good team with all the content drops throughout the year. But if you want those LS rewards to be worth something then do what everyone else has learned to do and play the market. You would be surprised at how easy it really is.

I understand what you are saying here. However, I'm going to respond by saying it's not that I don't want to work the market. It's that with the limited amount of time that I have to play during the week, I would rather spend that time playing than flipping.
But to each his/her own.
