Tried the tech test. The PCI extends way too far out of the strike zone and i hit a non-pci contact homerun on legend. That should never happen. They need to fix the PCI extending three feet out of the zone and eliminate the possibility of non-pci contact homeruns. Make the pci move in the confines of a square instead of a hyperextended oval. Not buying 22 if this is even remotely close to how hitting mechanics will work in 22. I had enough foul balls from people swinging at pitches that almost hit their batter in 21 to last me a lifetime.
It's going to happen at times, it's unavoidable. If the reverse was programmed and you couldn't extend that far, people could slam around in the zone. The PCI does shrink now outside of the zone so contact should be harder.
It's obviously been addressed by SDS, but we're not playing the final product and there may be changes that are coming that aren't built into the test version that are coming at launch.
This is mostly an online stability test of the servers and the cross platform/new coop addition.
I think there is a big difference between having the pci go somewhat out of the zone and clearing the zone entirely. If 50-75% of the inner PCI could access areas outside the zone that is different. You can literally move the entire inner pci out of the zone on pitches above the strike zone. Almost all of the PCI can clear the zone in both the left and right directions as well as below the zone. The biggest issues i have with this is foul balls, not necessarily hitting the ball. I have watched videos of Vlad Sr golfing balls out of the dirt and swinging at pitches over his head, so its not entirely obnoxious but the amount of pitches that get fouled off that shouldnt makes this game pretty much unplayable for me.
I think the intention here is user error can be made on pitches in the zone. Squaring pitches up on the edges of the zone takes some touch, you can overextend on them.
On higher difficulties the pitch speeds do a lot in terms of making harder to slam all over with good placement and timing. Hopefully the PCI penalty that's now in the game when going out of the zone gets dialed in so those happen less often.
You have to remember as much as you may play the test, your individual data and experience represents a very tiny amount of the overall data they'll get. It's possible your experience can be different from someone else's just due to tendencies, ability level, and the RNG.
If you play on HOF and legend a lot, you're most likely playing against better players who control the PCI better.

New PCI anchor is going to be interesting. Playing around with it now.
Hitting feedback says 9mph wind but doesnt show which direction.
Can you explain what the anchor is? I’m not near my console.
You can change you starting position of your PCI to one of 9 positions.

by default wind is turned off in settings you must turn it on
Ill check that. Weird that it would say the wind speed though.

I believe the outer edge pci is vision area where the hitter may foul off a pitch or weak contact. The center pci is actual bat path to barrel up.

I got into one game and it disconnected in the 3rd inning and now I can't load into a game. I have tried about 10 times and every single time it freezes up on the match making screen. If I am not the captain I can just back out but if I'm the captain I have to quit out of the game and start it back up to try again

It shouldn't matter. If the game can use their pictures, then they should be able to put in the DH. It's not rocket science.

I have a few suggestions. Maybe not for this game but for future games - add additional sliding animations (to make the game a little more exciting on the slides) sliding all the time inside or out with the same slides gets a little boring. Sliding animations could be different based on base running ability.
There is a glitch on check swings - one of my games I had tapped the swing button and the player swing animation just jerked but no swing and the swing analysis showed that the bat came around the zone - that was odd - umpire rung me up, strike three sit down lol.
Weather factors could be a little more apparent on the players and atmosphere. 68 degree game in the middle of the summer (July, August) it should show temperatures starting off low cold temperatures in March and April rising through May and hot in summer, falling through the season to October. Have temperature affect power on hitters and control on pitchers. Not too drastic but just enough to make it more realistic.
Crowd reactions - I saw are improving, was throwing a no hitter with Pedro Martinez and the crowd was reacting to strikes thrown in the late innings - that was exciting to see. More of that would be nice makes the atmosphere feel more realistic.(Hope someone reads this and makes improvements) Keep up the good work you put in the game. I love the show, its probably the game I have played the most consistently every year. -

The hardcore fans really need to take a step back and really digest this. We are being sold the same exact game with minor add-ons,1 or 2 added features and a few more player animations. The developers are preying on the hardcore player/ baseball fan. Think about it people, PS5's 2021 version added BIRDS!!!!!!! WHO FREAKING CARES ABOUT BIRDS????? OH AND THE SMOKE SCREEN CREATE A STADIUM. STILL SAME GAME. THEY NEVER ADDRESSED OR FIXED THE GAME PLAY ISSUES!!!!!!! NEVER!!!!!! ALL'S THEY DID WAS ROB THE CONSUMER AND THEY THEY RAN TO THE BANK AND CASHED OUT ON THEIR EARNINGS!!!!!! NOW THEY'RE ATTEMPTING TO DO IT AGAIN!!!!! THEY ARE SELLING YOU THE SAME GAME!!!!! I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU BUT THE 2022 BETA WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A FREE TEST. WHY CANT WE ACCESS ONLINE GAME PLAY???? CAUSE THEY'RE BANKING ON YOUR LOYALTY. THEY ARE NOT GONNA ADDRESS OR FIX THE SERVERS.
