What are people investing in right now since there is delay to the mlb season ?
-
There’s really no way of telling right now unless for example a special mike trout card comes out that is better than his live series card (which is very unlikely). Then, you could realistically expect his live series price to go down some due to the demand of his new card.

A better question: Who is investing right now, and what is wrong with them?
-
Hernandez and Robinson are long term investments

At this point with the lockdowns/stay at home and no large gathering orders currently in place across the nation, it is likely that the earliest we'd even see baseball is looking like early late June or early July. And IF that even happens, it will require some training time along with having to play games potentially at neutral sites and maybe even having teams play in front of little fans at spring training facilities. I'm not sure id be willing to tie up stubs in investment when players wont even have much time to improve their rating.

It is very possible that there will be no MLB season this year. So, why would anyone invest?
-
Yeah, I just don't even know if we'll see any baseball played at all so I have a very hard time recommending to invest in anyone like we have in year's past.
I mean, there are players I like if we ever get a chance to play some games this year but do I want to tie up Stubs for something that may not even happen and if it does, we might not see a return on our investment until like August? I think I'll just wait until we know for certain that games will be played.

Very true. My guess would be if this stretches into July, that the 2020 MLB season could evolve into becoming a 30 team College World Series/Tournament like format, where all teams participate. It would be very interesting. I hope i am wrong, but at some point, the season would become to short so make much of a difference. A round robin/College World Series format would be the most fair way and provide some great sports viewing.

Some of the people you think are investing might actually be buying high numbers of the same card for exchanges. I bought 41 Steven Matz cards last night to finish off my Nats affinity, for example.

I’ve been investing in toilet paper.
