A Simple Solution to Dashboards/Early Quits

With BR wins for the second half of the year (and likely 2022) being worth 2 points, why not just make the ranked program points like BR and for both award 1 point to the loser if they complete the game. I think if people knew they would get guaranteed progress towards program reward they would be far less likely to dashboard or quit early and it might even prevent smurfing in ranked as well (obviously the ranked point requirement would have to be higher than it is now).

Enact a larger ratio (4 pts for W, 1 for CG loss) and you might be on to something.

Why though? The point is to give an actual incentive for people to finish games/not dashboard. If the point requirement was seen as too high nothing would change (or are you suggesting keeping the BR at 100 and RS at 60/80)?

LOVE this idea. Maybe tweak the ratio to 2.5 or 3 pts. per win and 1 pt. per CG loss, but the overall premise of your idea is a really good one.

What do you consider as a CG? What if someone playing BR goes down 2-3 runs and it's the second inning. If they want to quit to either move on to the next game or to redraft; they won't get any points because they didn't play a full 3 innings?
Until SDS finds away to either let the play continue or for the stat to count, especially with no doubters, there will always be dashboarding.
You could argue that implementing a penalty mat work; but again how do you distinguish between someone who dashboards, shuts off their console, breaks the internet connection, or even unplugs the power supply?

Then they move on to the next game and don’t get a point. My guess is the point incentive will keep the vast majority of people in the game until the end and probably reduce dashboards by 90% or more.

I like the idea. I say punish dashboarders, if you disconnect while the ball is in the air you get -1 point.

Again, there is no way to implement this that could distinguish whether someone dashboards, turns off the game completely, pulls the power cord, or if direct connected; pulls the Ethernet cable.

You'll never be able to stop people from dashboarding. If it's such an issue for people trying to get certain a stats; there are only two solutions:
-
Stop having stat based missions
-
Don't have stat based mission tried to online gaming. If people want to get stats towards missions; play the CPU.

That’s why I suggested rewarding people for finishing the game instead of punishing them for quitting early. You would likely be surprised how few people would dashboard if they knew sticking around would get them a point towards the program.

That suck for people actually lose connection, have a bad connection with player, or on a freezeoff.

I think you’re on to something here. It will work to a point. It will Probly work until players get their reward then they won’t care.

True, but I would guess that the dashboarder types move on to a different mode once they hit the program goal anyways.
