AL West Showdown
-
Ok, I got past Ohtani and only used three outs. Crazy. Wish me luck for the remainder.
-
The AL West is by far the easiest showdown to complete.
-
That's what makes this so frustrating. It feels like should be easy, but I keep getting dumped out.
-
The AL Central was a pain though, with Kopech as the final boss; Verly throws a ton of balls so he’s easier to drain. Also the West has lots of good hitters compared to the Central, if you can get Edgar Martinez, take him even as a RH

My advice. Stack alot of lefties.. cuz showdowns are Ohtani and Verlander .
To me Ohtani is harder than Verlander..
I've beat this enough to get Olson, Ohtani and Correa.. doing it 1 last time to get Houston and As TA to 70 each..
Silver hitters, Seager & La Stella rake for me in this.
Get 1 silver pitcher and possibly 2 high silver Relievers.Facts I got 1 more run and I'll have Correa I already have Gallo but will need to grind again to get Olson too.I started the last Showdown down 6 runs but manage to win it after only 2 outs so I was happy about that
Thats dope. Good job. Those last 3 outs when losing the showdown are intense lol
Im mad that I cant hit with Olson lol his defense is great. But I just finished getting Rizzo.
awesome congrats to you on getting Rizzo..Yes they are intense for sure but fun and aggravating at the same time lol..I love Olson middle in he destroys the baseball
Thanks. And welp. Finished the Showdown, got the 6x affinity packs for Astros and As .. 0 golds or Diamonds lol womp.
I just got Correa too and 3 pks no gold or diamond either lol
I've done 8 total and no gold or diamonds in any of those packs.

Biggest key to the bosses is swing with two strikes. Make the pitchers throw tons of strikes. Plus showdown is annoying because of two things, great defense and the pitchers ability to dot .

Are the divisions easier than the first inning? I’ve tried divisions twice and got to the final boss each time (only to lose). I did the AL Central and NL West. I’ve tried the first inning many times with no luck. I think I’ve got to the final boss once.
So are divisions easier than first inning? How would you rank the ease of the division showdowns?

I gotta disagree, the NL central having Hader as the final boss. I hate hitting lefties, but when he throws 90% fastballs and gets gassed really quick it becomes pretty doable.

The AL West has so many amazing bats though, and I’ve found the moments in between to have easier requirements as well.
Hendriks, Ohtani, and Verlander are all super easy to score off too.

Maybe it's just me the, Ohtani kills me. I always beat that showdown if I can get by him.

He’s definitely the most difficult of the three. Only having 10 outs sucks too.

So are there some that are easier? Or is it more just person to person?
I know the particular missions change a little bit each time, but I wonder if anyone has made a list of all the like challenges to show up?

I’ve done the AL West enough to know it’s the same missions every time, but just in a different order.
So theoretically, you can get lucky by having harder missions show up earlier, meaning they’ll be worth less runs and only like a silver player if you fail it.

What are all the missions, if you don't mind me asking?

I’d have to get around to writing them down, but these are the ones off the top of my head.
- Complete the save against the Angels with bases loaded and no outs.
- Score 3 runs with 1 homerun in 3 innings against Andrew Heaney.
- Strikeout Joey Gallo.
- Down 2-0 in the bottom of the 9th against Zack Greinke, make the comeback and win the game.
- Score four runs with two XBH without giving up a run against Sean Manaea
- Finish a game against the Mariners without allowing a run.
- I think score 3 runs with a certain number of XBH in two innings against Lance Lynn
- Tied 0-0 in the top of the 9th inning, win the game against Corey Kluber and the AL West super team.
- Can’t remember, I’ll update it when I find out.
Someone please correct me if any of those wrong. I know 7 is against Lynn, just can’t remember exactly what the requirements are.

I'm sure no one cares, but I finally did it. Started at 10-15. Only had one hit in the first 8 outs, and it was erased on a double play. Started to string something together with 6 outs left.
Santana homered on the final out with two strikes to get it done.
To me it just feels like the timing window is slightly different in these Showdowns compared to other areas of offline play. -

Man does anybody have advice how to beat Verlander? I have no issues with Ohtani. But when I get to Verlander I can’t put two hits back to back. And eventually somebody hits into a DP before I can move the runners around. I’m 3 rounds through losing on Verlander
