Pre-loading throws

I’m looking for fielding suggestions here boys.
I lost a game earlier today in extras because Mookie botched a dying quail and kinda just let it go past him, allowing the ghost runner to score.
I feel like I had a good route to the ball in front of him, but I tried to pre-load the throw home. I’m using buttons (not button accuracy) so I guess it’s on me.
That said, how should I have played this?
It kinda felt like the game decided it was going to be over but, shouldI not pre-load the throw?
Mookie was in a secondary position in left field.

It's hard to say how you should play it or if it was user or game fault without seeing a video

Yeah, I couldn’t figure out how to record from the replay vault post-game.
Safe to say, I’d better practice button accuracy if I play next year.

It's worth it, 20 was the first year I started using it and not throwing it randomly into the dugout was a breathe of fresh air

Never. Completely eliminates throwing errors.

Speaking of throwing, there is an issue that I hope gets fixed for 22 that I don't think gets talked about enough when people bring up problems with the game. So my opponent has a speedy guy on 2nd with one out and he hits a ground ball to 2nd, I throw to first knowing exactly what's going to happen is he's rounding 3rd and heading home. As I throw to first I'm already pre-loading the button accuracy throw home and Finest Freddie Freeman makes the catch for the 2nd out and the guy is not even a 3rd of the way home. The throw already being pre-loaded I'm thinking he's going to fire it home for the 3rd out. Nope he stands there for what feels like a full second then turns around in a complete circle before throwing a lazy toss to home plate and what I think is an easy out the guy scores easily without even having to slide.

Buttons > button accuracy when it comes to steals and catcher throws the button accuracy takes too long

I switched this year. I've had thousands of throws and made maybe 2 errors, which was completely on me.
