I purchased a PS5 back in May and the analog on my controller was worn out after only a few months of grinding DD. Since then my PCI has shaken to the point of distraction, so much so that I've had PCI toggled off for months now. There are also intermittent periods where my analog will simply not allow me to reach certain areas of the strike zone.
So, I'm wondering...Does the analog on your controller have similar wear? Is there anyway to fix the analog rather than replace the entire controller? How often do you replace it? What is the optimal way of handling this issue?

On my old PS4 controllers I used to have stick drift issues on the analog sticks. Happens when the potentiometers in them are worn out from constant or frequent use.
Fixing them would require dismantling your controller and installing new potentiometers, and since I personally have no knowledge of how to fix controllers, I just settled on getting a new controller. I'd recommend you do that.
But make sure the controller you get is BRAND NEW. Don't get a used one from gamestop or whatever, because I made that mistake once and the used controller I got had stick drift too. Learnt my lesson lol.
Be sure to check and see if the warranty on the controller is still good.
Hope this helps.

Yes the same exact thing happened on my controller. Had to buy a new one

Yes buy a new one

The rubber on the analog stick ripped and came off. On another controller, the x button is stuck…

Yes, I went to Best Buy and bought a new controller and the protection plan for like 6$. When one wears out I get a new one. I game a lot so it happens more often than you’d exoect

Nice. That’s the kind of suggestion I was hoping for. I’d rather not buy an expense controller every few months. A warranty like that seems smart. Ever have any trouble with Best Buy? Anyone use a different retailer for the warranty?

Wow, you guys must play a lot or play hard.
I will say, one of my controllers' R2 trigger snapped, meaning it still works but no more haptic stuff. Barely any tension. Heard that happens a lot.

Dude I broke my Xbox elite controller which was 190$ by dropping it. Took it in they gave me a gift card for what I bought it for and I went and purchased a new one, plus it was on sale for 149 so the 198$ gift card paid for the new controller and my 3 year warranty lol

If you have your receipt you can contact PlayStation and submit a warranty claim

I know how to fix controllers but the sticks I believe you have to know how to sodder (that is misspelled) We have 4 PS4 in my house. I keep the broken controllers to use for parts. There are good video on utube how to replace parts on the controllers. It is pretty easy to take a part and fix.

There are YT videos on how to fix this, but for PS4. One had the user 'massaging' the area. You have to see it to see where.
I learned how to replace the analog sticks, but for the PS4 controller. NHL wears the tips out fast, and i got tired of buying new controllers. The kit comes with spare sticks and a special screwdriver. I'm sure there's a way for the PS5. -
