Maybe setting up a double play or he didn't want to face a hitter with 125/125 versus lefties?

    Guys do weird stuff.

I was playing an event game and he brings in, Aaron Loup in a 3-2 count to try and put me away. 2 outs, 2 strikes bottom of last inning. Cheesy move, you will never see that in baseball. So determination activated.

Way to battle to the end. He opens the door , you walked then it and then closed it.

And Chuck, hate it when guys bring in new pitchers in middle of the count. Pretty low rent.

Its cheese. Just like tapping R2 over and over and other shenanigans. Those arent smart moves. Just idiots turning a baseball simulation into an arcade game.

While I see your point; I wouldn't call Event or BR games baseball 'simulation'.

Show me an actual MLB game that has a relief pitcher starting.

You could argue that the 'simulation' comes into effect; if you consider a 3 inning Event or BR game as the 7th, 8th, and 9th inning of an actual game.

Then in that scenario, since it's technically 0-0 in the 7th, and you're playing to win, all bets are off.

Not condoning what they did; but since everyone on here says that 'you play to win' and he was playing to win.

Love it. He did make the maximum effort by leaping at the wall when the ball was 50 feet over his head, so I’ll give him credit… and by not dashboarding…

Teams use relievers as openers in MLB plenty.

It is the 7th inning on. That's why the starters have reduced energy. At least I always thought of it that way. My point was you never change pitchers mid AB. It's not a thing unless there is an injury or something. If you can justify that as doing what it takes to get a win, you can justify anything. Cheese is 🧀

You serious Clark? I guess you've never heard of the Tampa Bay Rays? Relievers started games just in the playoffs a few months ago.

Yes. And a majority of the time they do it is in playoff games.

And if a team does start an opener in the first inning; it's part of a 9 inning game.

The OP was talking about baseball 'simulation''. Pretty sure 3 inning version of baseball is not 'simulation'.

That's like saying NFL Blitz was a sim game.

You said "Show me an actual MLB game that has a relief pitcher starting."

It happens a decent amount, and not mostly in playoff games like you claimed. The Rays did it a lot, as did the Brewers for the better part of whole seasons.

I feel you are just trolling at this point, but I'll bite. You play video games to pass time and have fun. Yes you want to win and do well when you play but I don't feel too well when I go to extreme measures just to try and scrape out a W that means nothing. Remember this is a video game not baseball, so there are no real wins, just virtual wins.
