When the new game comes out I never miss the old one. I usually have it uninstalled within the month

18 really made me miss 17. 19 made me miss 17 even more.

@Schwizzle_Nizzle I disagree with you and here is why...

I've been playing this series religiously since 2015...

I don't know man, everything in 20 felt good to me. Checks were crazy but they went way too far in the opposite direction this year. I play mainly offline and they really screwed it.

My note about the error call was minor but it's that stuff over and over and over that I can't stand any longer. RNG cr@p also is a pathetic cop out for bad programming. The game decides everything for you instead of rewarding good input.

Unless SDS can actually program realistic gameplay, I'm done.

I don't wanna sound elitist when I say this, but you playing mostly offline kind explains a lot. The game on both versions play completely differently online vs offline.

I played 100+ RS games in 20 and finished around 80-29. Played about 70 this year (47-29 I think) and I was at only at 16 games played online before grinding for Trout. Online this year really sucks, especially all the freeze offs. This year felt like a huge L to me, both online and offline. Content is good. But they kinda have to put out good content to make the game have staying power.

This games was a dumpster fire outside of content and the parallel system. I’ve been playing this game since 2006, 20 and 21 were my least playing version.

I honestly wonder how much of that is video game/series fatigue.

All this [censored] about RNG...randomness exists in baseball, and a lot of the time getting a bad result with good input makes people cry RNG! In my eyes, it's about how often you get good input. If your input is consistently good, then results will be consistently good. If I'm playing a RS game, where I suck, and I square up ONE BALL and it's right at a fielder, that's my fault too.

Good programming doesn't mean that every time you square up a ball it should be a bomb or even a hit.

It's bad programming when you have a 99 speed runner hit a ground ball into the deep hole in SD, only for a 56 arm, 60 accuracy fielder get the ball in short left field and throw you out by two steps. The game forces your runner to run in quicksand. This game has programmed outcomes to every hit when you swing. PP flyballs with 125 power hitters dying at the fence 10 times a game. Bronze fielders making platinum left plays at 1st and 3rd on 114 mph balls hit near them. Forced double plays every single time you have someone on first base? Really? This game has become pure trash.

20 was very consistent for me. I didn't have a single freeze off. Lots of people remember the no locking in on flyballs issue. That was bad but it was fixed. And all people do is cry about check swings. There are a ton of other issues with 21 they never fixed because they're bad at their job. No stamina loss with PPP is one of the bigest issues outside of freeze offs they never fixed.

Are you sure? Warning track shots w/125 power 10 times a game? Sure about that?

Sounds like you're sore about not being able to dominate all the time.

Also, people need to realize that the game is of course a bunch of 1's and 0's behind slick graphics, and those graphics will never be able to make outcomes look as realistic as we want them to. I remember years ago looking at replays in NCAA and thinking, "Hey, the ball warped through my CB's hands -- no fair!" That's just video games. There will always be slippage between what the game determines will happen and how that transfers over into imperfect graphics engines.

Physics in games like this can't be easy to program.

As an offline player, this is all true. They slow your baserunners, make your outfielders with Diamond defense double clutch on throws. The DP's are insane. They love to set you up for them. They love killing your rallies! I'm not complaining, just confirming. Also, the comebackers that almost every CPU pitcher knocks down & fields perfectly is insane. The biggest one is CPU batters with even 55 speed making every grounder to 1st a close play. But yours? Check the replay. Your runner will be jogging to 1st, like he had a big load of diarrhea in his pants, squeezing his cheeks in desperation.
    Poo pants!
    https://youtu.be/4O2najyhUog
The programming is a bit cheap in simulating difficulty which I'm sure is hard to completely replicate.

Correct! In real life baseball, a guy and hit a ball 'perfect perfect' and the majority of the time it's a line out to an outfielder, a foul ball, etc....

Programming wise - they can't award perfect perfect as a hr everytime or every game will be 22-21. Maybe they make perfect/perfect much more rare but then you would have everyone complaining how perfect/perfect is too rare.

All this stuff should be free. We paid for a baseball game. I hate that video games have just turned into microtransactions. When I was a kid, you bought the entire game on a cartridge.

21 sucked balls. 20 was far superior.

As a counter point that game you bought on cartridge didn't have support 365 days out of the year an received weekly content updates to keep that game interesting and engaging beyond what shipped in that cartridge.

This argument gets used alot with today's gaming landscape but its a flawed argument because it's not even close to comparable especially in this case.
