Showdown is a carnival game

I like showdown & would have to disagree with anybody that says it’s “rigged”. My only gripe with the mode is that the cpu makes an insane amount of ridiculous diving plays. Doesn’t matter what they’re rated as a fielder, they’ll make the catch. Other than that, I’ve had no issue with the mode. I’d say a lot of people are seeing the difficulty setting & thinking it should be a cakewalk. Just slow your approach with the final boss & don’t allow yourself to get rattled.

I may be in the minority, but I enjoy Showdown. Takes some strategy and a lot of patience at the plate. I also like that it is challenging at times. It is always the 2nd boss battle that gets me sweating. It would be boring if it was a cake walk every time. It’s OK to lose sometimes. I think this mode is a great addition by SDS. Hang in there and keep trying.

I have more fun doing showdown then I do playing ranked, events or br. YeH the defense is diamond on every player, the pitchers dot like we want to. But hell is fun and you don’t have to deal with the bs hitting or pitching

The diving plays are half the reason I say it’s rigged. They’re quite laughable sometimes actually. The other reason is that hit rates just seem down. Obviously I have no evidence to prove it, so it’s just speculation, but hard hit balls seem to get down way less in showdown than in any other mode.

Yep. It’s not impossible or even extremely hard. But you will fail sometimes. The issues are what you said, Spider-Man fielders and getting screwed on some hits. Still doable tho.

Ransom put up a little video on YouTube explaining how to be a little more successful at Showdown. Long story short, take a two strike approach.
Thanks, gonna give your 2 strike approach serious try. Like in your video how last HR your pci is not even covering the ball. Those are fly outs for me everytime.... Lost track but think this is my last 8th try at Showdown. Frustrating part is having to start all over from scratch and hit or miss if you get to pick from ideal hitters.
Thank you, but all the credit goes to Ransom, it’s his content I just shared it with whoever needs some help.
Two strike approach can work, but I find I do get good pitches in hitters’ counts fairly often. Getting knocks early also lowers the cpu pitcher confidence.
Be careful not to build the cpu pitcher confidence too much by taking too many fastballs right down the [censored].

My advice to people on showdown, go play some offline modes on HOF or legend, get used to the speeds, then go back to showdown after a little break.
I promise you will find it MUCH easier.
It has nothing to do with pitch speeds. It has to do with incredibly high amount of good contact that turns into outs and the fact that I just had 3 out of 4 gold/diamond draft rounds offer me 3 pitchers and then a fielder at a position I already had filled with a high rated player(yes I am also aware I can put people out of position, not the point when they are offering me high glove no bat catchers). The draft needs to incorporate some form of [censored] logic and it needs to stop offering me 75% pitchers when I already have a starter and 3 relievers that I dont even need in the first place.
The complains, similar to most in the game, are at the devs lack of foresight into any potential issues. At some point youd think these people be capable of being proactive instead of reactive. Hell who am I kidding, Id settle for reactive at this point.

I refuse to even play showdown. Too many negative comments regarding it and I think it will screw with my already shaky offense online.
You’d have to assume there will be a Showdown Extreme.
Between Showdown and moments, those are two aspects of the game I’m fine without.
Also, I like to use my actual team in DD. I don’t like moments or showdown, because I can’t grind with my team and have stats tracked.
Last year during moments extreme, I’d play for days without any stats being tracked. I hated that.

One tip for Showdown, there's a bronze perk that guarantees a strike on the 7th pitch of an at bat. If you use that and work the count you will get meatballs to hit.
It doesn't stop them from being super frustrating, but it does make things easier.

Showdown is easy if u can’t beat it u stink

They completely broke it with the patch. It’s unplayable. Total let down by SDS
