Favorite Pitcher Windup?
-
Pedro
Modeled my own windup after his. Glove chest high, square up to the batter, step back 45 degrees, pivot, explode the hips and fire away at any arm angle
Now if only I could throw a changeup like that I could have made it past high school lol

Curious to know what everyone’s favorite pitcher windup is. It’s the 9th inning and I still haven’t decided mine. I just miss that Chad Bradford card from a couple years back, with the submarine windup and release. Generally, I prefer windups that are quicker (so no to Christy Mathewson, lol)
So who’s is your favorite?
Full windup I like Max Scherzer because he's similar to how I pitched. Online, I don't use a pitcher cap so it's irrelevant. But when grinding cpu/offline I just prefer anyone from the stretch to make it quick. Carrasco, Burnes, Mo, Kenley. Anyone from the stretch. Also, I like Freddy Peralta. His timing seems pretty good for me.
I find Peralta to have a pretty good windup for timing too.
On another note, and I hope this comes across in a positive way. In the past, a lot of your comments on threads seemed to be negative or fairly aggressive, but lately everything I see from
You is pretty positive and a 180 in direction. Cheers, my friend.I'll fight you.

Favorite windup in the game for pitch timing purposes is probably Pedro. A windup I would love to see how it worked out in the game would be Hideo Nomo. As a kid me and a friend of mine used to always try to duplicate different pitching windups and his was the one we had the most fun with....and worst results.

el duque With the knee to the chest windup. As a kid I loved watching that.
-
Milwaukee love. Burns and Peralta. Both super quick. I use analog so I hate long windups.

So am I missing something or has Chad Bradford never had a card in DD

He did in 2018 or 2019. I think 2019. It was a rookie card or something, but the bronze rating didn't matter, his windup was so fun

I checked the card databases on daddyleagues going all the way back to 2015, and Chad Bradford never showed up. The only Bradford it shows in ‘18 and ‘19 was Chasen Bradford.

I know, I was checking if he was ever in the game as a legend.

Gotta be goose and his sideways finish off it tight too

I love how some of you find your personal windup as your favorite!
Mine too.
When I was a kid, I tried to model my delivery after Steve Carlton. Didn't work.
Turns out I was imitating Whitey Ford and didn't even know it.
I wonder why we don't see starters who throw sidearm anymore? -

This ^^^^
Have you tried Brandon Woodruff's new Finest? It's like all Milwaukee starters are racing one another.
My favorites...all fast:
Nate Pearson
Robbie Ray
Freddy Peralta
Brandon Woodruff
Corbin Burnes
Billy Wagner
Alex ReyesAnd on and on. I like the classic guys from the stretch like Cy Young and Bob Feller.

Great topic! If I had any baseball skill, a Pitcher is what I would choose to be! Clemens is one of the best and - regardless of the issues - deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. Loved his time as an Astro!
In regards to the game, I don't mind JV's windup and his 99 is fun to use. The MA Glasnow card was a huge surprise! His windup is quick and he's accurate! I took LS Luis Garcia (Astros) all the way to Level 5 Superfractor! His windup is fun to watch in real life, but getting him to Level 5 was a true grind! Most players using him haven't gone past Level 2!
Paul Sewald's Finest card has been the latest surprise! His windup is quick and he's been pretty accurate! I have all the 99 relievers, but I keep him in my lineup (he's a 98).
One card I thought I'd super-hate would be Walter Johnson's MS card, BUT, it turned out his windup goes way quicker than expected and he was pretty accurate. Was pleasantly surprised by this one.
One other card I really enjoyed using was Wade Miley's TN card. I got him to Level 5. His windup was quick and his card was efficient!

These are some good ones. I definitelyiked Glasnow's Monthly and was hoping we'd get a higher diamond for him but he got hurt as we all know so....
Walter Johnson is probably my favorite of the old timey pitchers. But once they are in the stretch, they're all fun to use because of the heat and accuracy.
I love some of the new Finest relievers, Sewald being my favorite. Phil Maton's Postseason card is another recent favorite.

Since Bradford isn't in the game, what submarine pitchers are in the game? I love them!

Tyler Roger's Postseason 21 is the one that comes to mind. Aaron Loup Finest kind of.
