9th inning challenge

Am I missing something? because I do miss a lot, lolIf I can Play as the cards in single player/play vs cpu that would be great for this challenge.
I just want to make sure I missed something here.

It says play as either the Cardinal hitters or players. Go to Home, Manage Team (or something like that). Configure your team with Cardinal players. If it says Hitters, you can use any pitcher you want, otherwise, use a Cardinal pitcher.
I find it easiest to go to theshow.com, log in, and use the inventory link. I select the option for the cards I own, and the team I need to use.
Use that list to build your team. Oh, and it says for 15 innings. Each Cardinal player that is on the field counts as an inning, so if you have 8 or 9 Cardinals, you only need to play two innings and then quit.
I also have a separate team for the inning missions so I don’t have to keep messing with the DD team I like to play with.
Follow Costa Rica’s post for the mode. You can play any team and any difficulty you want.
If you’re still not able to get it, follow me on Twitch and catch me when I’m streaming (usually weekdays, during the day). I’ll walk you through it.

I want that babe ruth 99 so bad,......
This is the most work Ive done on purpose to get any card.
I have the 88 Ruth and it is at 91 at this point, But Id prefer the 99 card.Im at level 15 or 16 I think now, so 10 more to go, between a few challenges regarding the "finest" players and Ill have it.
I found doing the one where you make a squad then go after the big boss got me half way there and now the extra innings where you can squad up specific players for various challenges will get me the rest of the way.Love this game.

If you’re having a difficult time fielding a team, go to the market and find some commons for that team for 5 stubs. You don’t have to win or even have them in their primary positions if your going to quit after the second inning…they just need to show up. You do need to get 3 outs when the other team bats, though…so don’t go too crazy
thanks I actually did use this idea but for "the Finest" players I needed, Turns out I had many cardinal layers already I was able to sub form my players and make a new squad.
I had two of "the finest" players, so I bought 4 more a pitcher and 3 fielders so doing those challenges came quick with 5 or 6 players from the finest cards.

With double XP being active until the end of the inning, you'll get it. If you want to get XP fast, play below your ability in CPU games and score 15+ runs per game. Your XP will come pretty fast.
More recently, I was taught how to efficiently do the conquest maps, so I have been getting quite a bit of XP through them also.
Don't forget the inning collections too...they yield quite a bit of XP to help things move along.

Im sure in time I will understand more.
Ive gotten most of the players/cards that I wanted one way or the other but this is the first I will successfully get from the 9th inning program style.
In the past I didnt understand how to make squads to satisfy the challenges so for now this is a huge help,.
Im on level 19 as of this morjning, I need 6 more, Ill have them by this evening, finally. -

This is my first full year of DD and it took someone who has been doing conquest for years to explain to me the best way to get them done. If you ever hop on my Twitch stream, I will walk you through what was taught to me. There are 5 ways to Sunday to do them, everyone has their own method, but I've found that the method that was taught to me works best (for me).
