Is this the worst competitive sports game out there?

I've played the show, madden and nhl. Mlb the show is easily the best and most fun in a sports game I've played. The game itself is the most enjoyable plus the content is great. You don't need to spend anything in mlb to compete online.

You can create a team of 99’s for free and take it online. Good luck doing that in any other sports game.

Content is almost always amazing year in and year out. No other sports game is as generous as The Show is. I’ll always appreciate that aspect.
But almost every other aspect of this game has been a letdown. Gameplay slightly improved until server connections, freeze offs, PCI sensitivity changes etc made this game pretty unbearable at times
They need to prioritize H2H gameplay and their servers for 22

I always find these discussions interesting. This is my first year and I have never played other sports games online, so I really can't comment. But what is interesting is I always see comments about the free content of The Show making it far and away better than other sports games. Most of the time those comments really are not comparing the "H2H gameplay". I don't know if others are better or worse in that area....I just find it interesting that time after time it is said that The Show is better because of "free content".

The game online is just its own tomato Head to head how you play it and call it actually baseball is beyond me . Its simply the twiligt zone that very few even seem to grasp . Playing franchise or any other mode where 2 actual human personalties are not a factor the game is solid.With controllers universally having the option to zap in and out of a program while engaging another simultaneously you can never eliminate the cheating or multi demensional traveler . No game on PlayStation period is ammune and or actually competitive. But it evidently has its appeal. Online head to head althogh proven untrustworthy is continally touted as elite.Go figure. First these things dont exist. Then low and behold they get patched after the Youtube tell all video shows they do . I say fix online head to head or stop acknowledging it altogether.There are many ways

I vote for FIFA as the worst. I've actually never played it so I can't speak intelligently about the competitive online experience, but it has one huge negative that I just can't get past: you have to play games of soccer.

No one should be questioning the content. SDS does a great job of making great cards that are available (for free) to anyone that just wants to grind the game.
I don't play Fifa, Madden, etc so can't comment on those but from a competitive standpoint, this game is awful. It is all due to the connection, server, match making issues. From my research if you live near a server and the game connects you to that server most of the time, you have a huge advantage in this game. Streamers close to the alleged servers rarely see issues. I am 8-9 driving hours from the closest one and see issues all the time. That is not a coincidence. This game needs more and better servers and a better match making formula to get yours and your opponent's ping to the server as close as possible.
I picked up PGA Tour 2k21 in October for free. From what I can tell the game has very few issues. I found a site called TGC Tours and joined it last week. That site is top notch and I would advise anyone that plays golf to join. It is the most fun I've had in a video game since Socom. Last weekend I had Battlefield early access since I pre-ordered and played for maybe 2 hours. $100 game and yet I spent most time playing a free one. Rest of my time was spent trying to get better at golf to get my tour card. By tour card, I had to play 4 qualifying rounds and earn it. Sort of at the bottom trying to work my way up but the settings are really hard when you start. Very challenging and rewarding.

Criticism doesn’t equal complaining. Pretty easy to comprehend that. I’m critical of the game this year because some of the issues it has are pretty bad. Of course you’re going to experience people voicing their criticism of this game here…its literally the dedicated forum dummy.
Yes I’ll still continue to play and will buy 22. I love baseball and I like video games. But I’m lost on how you think if someone is critical of a game, that automatically means they shouldn’t play it…lol okay.

Not saying it’s a great game but mlb the show is a good game. For online play I like it better than the rest. 2k went down hill with sever meta cheese. And Madden is just a loot box game with horrendous game play. I haven’t played NHL in a while. I had a blast in nhl 16 with Chel. My friends and I had a pretty good club team that we played often. Then it just got bad year after year.
Right now The show is the only sports game I play and get excited for every year.
I think they took all of the skill out of the game with every good pitcher having 102 mph fbs. In years past you had to pitch with some type of strategy and skill. This year, it’s just try and blow fbs past people. It truly requires no skill.
i promise you you can't just spam fastballs against top players, 2k is a wallet based game.
