Why does a Prime have to be his best card?
Because it's a relief pitcher. Relievers either get a prime card or a milestone card.
Sig John Smoltz and Joakim Soria say different

Also Fingers, eckersley, and Miller
There were even some Awards series relievers last year too lol

Just realized too, the way they have it listed there on Twitter. It could just mean a Finest collection. I doubt it because of the wording, but it could be.
That would make more sense, but it says legends and flashbacks. I can’t see them making it a big legend this late in the game. None of the older finest cards are of a retired player, right? I could only see finest making sense. Though Smoltz never got a 99 card this year yet, If so they should make it him.

Because that’s the rule that SDS has followed since Signature cards became a thing in ‘19.
If a player has a prime, signature, awards, or milestone card, then that’s guaranteed to be their best card (with potential exceptions, like Perez last year). The only exception for legends is players like Smoltz/Eckersley getting one as a starter and one as a reliever. How could another dibble card possibly be different enough to warrant being made?
I still say it would surprise me if they dont release a Milestone no-hitter for Burnett even with his Prime card.

That's true, but at the same time it seems really odd that he had a 97 last year but his best card this year would be a 93? They love to add as many high rated cards as possible for diversity and all, so that is also why I'm thinking its probable.

Actually there are a LOT of player left that could get better cards. Pujols, Griffey, Trout are obvious. But there’s also Gagne, Babe, Doby, Bagwell just to name a few. I would love to see some middle relievers get some love like Tony Sipp from a few years ago. They could accomplish that via flashback cards.

Another side effect of over rating players and releasing end game players mid way through the game, someone like Trea Turner could have been a finest collection reward, won the NL batting title, or even make the two mvps the finest collection reward but you probably can’t because they already have 98’s. I guess Tatis is an NL MVP candidate so I don’t mind.

Right, but Posey, Goldy and Freeman although very good players would disappoint as the biggest collection. Trout was the big guy last year so I don't see it being him.

You clearly aren’t understanding what I am saying, I get that he’s a candidate, but in reality he’s the only MVP candidate who hasn’t been given a juiced card this year which just makes him an auto choice. If they had not juiced everyones cards mid game cycle we might be able to have a debate on whether he’s the final collection reward for the finest collection. Me personally, I think Vlad Jr. is far more deserving, but he has a 99 already so he can’t be.
