How bout this, take the xp and run
-
His highest Ops+ outside of his limited rookie year was 140 in 1976, I'd argue that's better the just being a "gold caliber player on his best day"
-
These extra stat metrics are what is ruining the game. Always get the same argument.
Take a guy like Gallo, this dude SHOULD NOT be playing in the majors. I could care less about OBP, if there is a runner on 2nd two outs and u need a hit, a walk does nothing.
-
These moments took me 20 minutes and easy power thank you sds

I assume you felt the same about Adam Dunn?

That is your right, but since MLB and all the front offices seem to value advanced metrics, I follow their opinion a bit more and think that those stats are important.

With that high an Ops+, his WAR must be, umm... Like, really good.
Ops+?
Did you see him play? He was a punch and judy hitter!
Advanced stats are SO lame..296/152 HR/859 RBI ÷ 18 years= 8.4 HR's/yr. and 47 RBI/yr.
Not that great!
I wonder what his BiFTa- is?
(I made that up) -

(I made that up)So from what I'm reading here is that if you aren't a power hitter, you don't deserve to be a diamond.
Also using RBIs to judge a players diamond worthiness is silly.

Yeah, ud be worthy of being a diamond for sure!! But, is Griffey Sr considered a legend? Hell no! Them releasing guys like this just goes to show how much "the show" likes to copy and paste players

Well that's very easy to dispel, because when SDS uses the term legend, they just mean non-active players. They aren't saying "This guy means so much to the history of the game"!
Anyone who isn't live series, or a flashback, is called a legend. That just means they don't play in MLB anymore.

No, sir. And I'm not trying to pick a fight either.
The guy literary defines "pretty good" or "decent".
Serviceable. Solid.
There isn't a stat you can show me to convince me he was anything but. What about his playing career and statistics support your argument that he was deserving of a diamond program?
I'll answer that question for you... They give them to players who have one good game. Haha!
Maybe next year, they'll have Moments and Programs for solid at bats.
Ceasar Hernandez Diamond Card... 'nuff said. -

Ceasar Hernandez Diamond Card... 'nuff said.See while you obsess over who does and doesn't deserve stuff, I welcome the diversity and how many options we have to chose, it's why I play. Do I think some random player who hit one home run "deserves" 125 power? Absolutely not. But I also don't care who deserves what, if it is a fun card, it's just fine with me.

How do you feel about Joe Carter as a player? just sparking some conversation here

Ken Griffey Sr. Career Stats:
BA- .296
Hits- 2143
HR's- 152
RBI- 859
3x All-StarI saw Sr. play.
He was not even remotely special.
His greatest career accomplishment was siring Jr.A nice player who hit in a lineup with Rose, Morgan, Bench, and Foster.
This is super lame, SDS.
The guy was a Gold caliber player on his best day.
I would rather no content than cut and paste filler content. What are your career major league baseball stats? Just curious.

Here’s an example of someone that doesn’t understand how hitters bring value in different ways. Gallo had a 123 wRC+ this year. That means he was 23% better than the league-average. That’s better than Tim Anderson, Jake Cronenworth, Nolan Arenado, Adam Frazier, and many more. Being able to compare two totally different types of players with extremely different offensive skillsets and determine which one is truly more productive using advanced metrics has made the game so much better. Having a .300+ AVG doesn’t necessarily mean that person is a better offensive player than the guy with a .200 AVG that hits for power and walks.
If there’s a runner on 2nd with two outs, I’d rather my hitter walk than swing at junk or make weak contact for an out. With how many homeruns are being hit these days, having a high OBP is more valuable than ever.

I am sure u could find a category for any player now and say he is good at something.
Let me ask u, let's take my earlier example.
If there was a runner on 1st and 2nd, two outs and Gallo is up (let's say Barry bonds is on deck) would u want Gallo up to bat?

He had a nice career. Overall he wasn't that great of a player. Do I care that a video game gave him a diamond card? No.
