Cards that pleasantly surprised you
-
John Olerud signature is so good, such a good swing,
On the opposite side.. my Milestone Hank Aaron.. I cannot hit with..
-
John Lester No Hitter, Shane Baz Topps now are great cards. I love Aldeberto Mondesi. I dont use him much outside of BR.
-
Eduardo Escobar, poor man's Chipper Jones and still in my lineup. All-Star Card.

TREA TURNER
Trea didn't surprise me at all
-
Matt Kemp for sure was easily one of my best hitters.
Kris Bryant is insane
George Brett was better than Chipper for me.
Rod Carew is a real sleeper. Don’t let the power stats fool you. He slaps.
Keibert Ruiz
Jake Cronenworth might be a top 5 second baseman.
I change my lineup almost every time I play so there’s a lot of great cards that aren’t meta,Lou Brock is a god
I’m batting almost .400 with Whit Merrifield too. He was surprisingly good. Also he gets to every ball hit it seems. -
Playing Events and then playing (RS) makes cards play totally different.
-
99 Thome. Only a few games but I have 9 homers and am batting over 600 with him in 8 RS games. Before that then probably 99 Adley. I sucked with his 90 but now I am less than 1000 points away for 99 superfractor adley
-
42 Series Yordan Alvarez....period.
I hit Homers in my first 5 at-bats with him. Never looked back.
[censored] well better get a 99 Postseason....only good side to my sox losing.
-
MileStone - Luis Gonzalez
Signature - Gary Sheffield
Awards - David Justice
AllStar - Ozzie Albies
LiveSeries - Fernando Tatis Jr -
Tyler Stephenson from the June POTM program… his defense isn’t great (but I can barely throw runners out with anyone else, anyway), but he’s probably my best hitting card.
-
You really need to try the 98 Rod Carew card. On paper he looks like he has no power. Don’t let that fool you. He slaps everything, plus 80 speed at first base is crazy. I have Lou Gehrig and yes Gehrig might be better but believe it or not my batting average is higher with Rod and the slugging is about the same, I had a game the other day when I hit back to back triples and then smacked a homer in the same game. For less than 10k this card is a must in my book. Even if u just use him as a pinch hitter.

90 Justin Turner Monthly Award. I do better with him over his 96 Signature card and even my regular 3B 99 Award Wade Boggs. I have no idea why, but I do.
I forgot to list that one but YES! I swear, there is something weird about that card. In a pretty decent sample size, I was hitting near .600 with him.
-
Gold Gavin Lux. I only use him in BR and he is batting .345 in 202 PA. Has 15 doubles and 17 HR.
LS JRAM in 427 AB has 39 HR and batting .293
Awards Chipper in 602 AB has 47 HR and batting .285( explain this one?)42 series Niko Goodrum has the most HR for me as a primary SS. Lindor is right behind him.
Shout out to Brian Robert’s.

Yes, his 42 was amazing. Can't wait to use his 99 Postseason.
Others that surprised me in a good way though some of them were 99s and shouldn't have.
Bobby Witt Jr.- FS 99- great all around player
Wade Boggs- Award 99- man he rakes
Alfonso Soriano- gold 84- obviously his 99 MS is amazing but I really liked this one for a while during TA1.
42s- Max Muncy, Yordan Alvarez, Trent Grisham
Monthly -Jesse winnerLots of good ones to choose from
-
Will Smith, Monthly Awards. That guy can flat out hit.
-
Giambi has been a pleasant surprise for me. And Cedric Mullins. But I think a lot of people hit good with Mullins
-
99 Brett, 98 Gurriel Jr, 95 Heyward
-
42 Series Ketel Marte
