Milestone Whit

Not sure how to feel about this card, I like the real life Whit, but his swing in this game is just not doing it for me.
-
I don’t know if anyone is excited for this card, at least it’s not another first baseman though.
-
He’s a gap machine. He’ll play above his attributes
-
It's like Tony Gwynn, he's going to be hitting a lot of singles and doubles in the gaps. Of course, many people only like cards that hit homeruns or outs.
-
He's 45k XP. That's all. Move along.
-
A lot of people like his swing. I'm not one of those people

I love a good slap hitter, just the swing animation feels off for me, seems like a mix between Mondesi and Alomar but he’s to tall to make it work?. I don’t know, maybe its just me.
-
He's a Conquest mode necessity. Contact batter, speed, defense. Plays 100 positions 🤪
-
I loved Whit's Live Series and used it at at the start of the year a lot. Still use it in BR when it comes up. The moments were more painful than most moments are for me on this one though. I kind of just hit everything right at someone. Looking forward to trying it in other modes though.
-
I'll give him a chance. I imagine the speed will be great and he'll be a good contact hitter off the bench.
I definitely dig the 45k xp.

Tell that to the Gehrig I bought for 800k. His swing is horrible

We need Ichiro

Moments were reasonable for the card and 45k any day
-
The first moment gave me trouble. Getting an extra base hit took me 28 tries. Did 10 on power, ten on regular. Switched to contact and got it on number 8. Not a fan

I usually have trouble with moments that are like this: for a card connected to inning XP, unless it’s a pitcher. However, I got through these no problem. I just have to play the game against the CPU tomorrow when I have the time.

Agreed. I earned him, hated him, sold him. Too bad, He was my favorite card a few years ago.
But it got me 99 Ohtani and Mookie (I was in zero rush to complete those until prices came down). I'm liking Vlad Jr. a lot, so it's a win win.

You might just need more swings with him. I haven't used him outside of the moments, so I can't say if I feel the same way. Of course, moments do not play like any other mode. But, I could see him as one that needs a lot of swings before one gets a good feel for him. That may have explained why it took so long for me to do his first moment and then breezed right through the others. After that first moment, I had gotten a good feel for his swing when I wasn't feeling it on that first moment. Possibly try some practice mode with him?

Yes! I can't wait for him to be back in the game. Hopefully before he goes into the HoF in 2025!

At this point in the year, most of the community immediately dismisses any card that's not a 99. If you're disappointed by this card then you probably fall into that category, and you were never going to be happy no matter who it ended up being.

I don’t fall into that category, I rotate cards in my lineup all the time because I get so bored with “God Squad” builds. I just don’t care for Merrifield. I would have preferred a legend but I know that no new legends are coming. People can not care for a card and not fall into “that category”.
