Does anybody else notice that despite better hitting attributes, 99 Mattingly is worse than the 95 Mattingly? He’s not very impressive and hits a lot of pop ups. They changed something as far as contact and power for him in the upper part of the zone.

Anybody notice similar issues with other players with multiple cards?

I haven’t noticed anything like that this year yet, but will definitely be looking into it. Last year I sometimes played worse with the red diamond than I did with the original card. Don’t know why, it was the same as parallels but I noticed it a few times.

The Yankees reward Posada is better than whatever better card he had.

Definitely a you problem. 99 Mattingly absolutely tears the cover off the ball and I’d easily go as far today in 21 he has been my best bat the entire year

Ok. Maybe it’s me, but he just doesn’t have the same uncanny luck with the 99 as with the 95.

Yeah, I thought it was me but the 99 has no power on contact and pitches in the upper part of the zone are always pop flies. I’ve hit a few homers with him but not like I have with the 95.

    Offline, I'm. 389, 14-36, 8 HR 13 RBI 3 doubles, but offline I should be over .400 with everyone.
I'm doing seemingly worse with 98 ASG Cronenworth than his 89 TN, which I have at P4.

Yeah. Those high attributes don’t always determine performance.

I’ve always hit well with Posada. Do you feel the swing is different on the collection reward card than the signature card?

Red Diamond Ryne Sandberg was the worst card I ever used but the standard one was one of my best hitters. Blew my mind.

That was the first one I picked out of the red diamond xp pack because I had his regular 99 at second for a while. It was like a totally different card. I think that was one of the more noticeable ones, even counting the ones you had to prestige yourself. I’m glad I’m not the only one who experienced that.

I’m hitting .375-.420 with everyone else except the 99 Mattingly. He’s at .298. Maybe I should sell him and buy him back and see what changes.

I put the Mattingly card in reluctantly for a mission being a Red Sox fan. He actually hit the ball really well so I left him in for a little bit because Frank Thomas wasn’t doing it for me. I’ll be honest I have an order in for Lou Gehrig but I don’t know if I can take Mattingly out. I don’t know why but that guy just keeps hitting home runs for me even though his stats don’t look like he should be hitting as much as it does.

Offline the CPU will definitely pitch your higher rated cards more selectively than it already does.
With your higher tiered cards, you definitely can't be looking to swing early in the count.

This is why I have a grind squad made up of 97 goons, ASG HRD etc., that still get pitches to hit and I don't have to wait forever for strikes, like I do when I try to play the CPU with heavy hitters like 99 Mantle, Frank Thomas, etc. Offline grinding with them takes too much time and patience.
