I'm getting so tired of going against these guys in the 500s with a 19-17 record that have every card in the game, including Mantle. They get bailed out simply by having cards with attributes that are far superior to that of a NMS team.
I'm tired of losing by 1 or 2 runs to guys that I'm clearly more skilled than, but they have $300 to spend on a [censored] video game. I'm not a WS player, by any means, but I made CS twice last year after starting in October, so I know I'm not total trash.
Anybody else have an opinion on how much easier this game becomes when you can just outspend everyone else?I just beat a guy with every top diamond in the game last night.. 6-2, so my guess is it doesn't become any easier because good cards cant make you hit a fastball, curveball or pitch very well.

This game is not pay to win
You didn't read the post
I did. You’re complaining about people spending money, and saying that’s the only reason they are beating you.
Lots of people could buy the best cards in the game and still not make it very far. The free cards are just as good as purchasable cards in most cases.
So no, this game is not pay to win.
When I lose by 1 or 2 runs in a game and it's because my good/good with an 87 overall is a shallow flyout and their late/okay with Mantle is a 3 run homer, yes, I'd absolutely say their cards are compensating for a lack of skill.
If you’re truly better than them, you’d beat them anyways.
Obviously a card with better attributes is going to play better than a card with lesser attributes, that’s just how the game works. But you don’t need the best cards to win, and having the best cards doesn’t guarantee you’ll win.
A person still has to be good enough to use those cards properly. Also, Good/Good really doesn’t mean much this year, regardless of the card.

all he is saying is that a bad player gets more room for error with great cards than maybe someone with decent cards and is actually the better player because those cards help make up for maybe said person's lack of skill..

Ummm a lot of those 99 cards say different because u only get them by turning in team sets at 30 teams and most cost you in the 100k range or more to complete yeah I say buying cards has an advantage but yes I understand we get the stars cards the exp cards and the FOTF cards at cheap prices if we are skilled enough to beat the challenges but the man is right 7-24 but has mantle Biggio and Sheffield already 2 weeks end u spent freaking money and u can't tell me they didn't otherwise..

This is exactly what I'm saying. When your margin for error is 10% larger (89 OVR vs 99 OVR) than your opponent, it makes for a not very fun experience.

but they don't, if you cant time a fastball or drop the PCI on every pitch, that mantle card isn't going to do much good for you, If you can't time the meter to get a good release on a pitch or even know the basics of pitching, changing speeds, working north-south, east-west...that Kluber card isn't going to help you very much.

So you're saying a card with better contact, better power, and a larger PCI (again, more room for error) does not make it easier to make contact or hit a homerun? That's asinine.

I get what your saying yes it's true..That doesn't mean Joe Smoe can't luck up a time or two and when he does it just happens to be the straw that broke the camels back so to speak..Heck luck plays a part in this game to but if you take the great card from a bad player his chances become minimal and less likely to occur without the help from a great card..

One period between sentences is good, you don’t need two.
Also, that ellipsis at the end is unnecessary.

In all star everyone makes contact, when you get to HOF and legend you actually have to be decent at the game to have success with any card in the game, so sure, those cards might help you get to CS, but once you're there its on you to remain there, those cards aren't going to help you much.

As I said before I just played a guy or girl last night with every high diamond in the game, I struck him out 13 times, he hit two solo shots and they were my fault I completely served him those two solo's but other than that he had more infield pop outs than hits. I have 4 Diamonds in my line up and 3 diamond pitchers, all of them are the cheap prospect cards and a FOTF Torres, I also have more homeruns with gold mike moustakous than I do with any of those diamond hitters. So sure, attributes can help when it comes to the RNG roll but they aren't the be all end all of the game.

I'm agreeing with you for the most part.I feel your pain even been there done that. It's just a part of the game u have to adapt to.unfortunately we can't overcome every obstacle with this game.It happens that's life.I suck at the game this is my 1st yr playing RS I'm 8-4 and I have an all diamond squad but not the great ones Sandberg is my 99 along with Kluber and 93 Oswalt the rest LS players and no Mike Trout which I'm depressed about lol. Just keep playing and do what you do.At the end of the day it's just a game..

I'm tired of losing by 1 or 2 runs to guys that I'm clearly more skilled than, but they have $300 to spend on a [censored] video game. I'm not a WS player, by any means, but I made CS twice last year after starting in October, so I know I'm not total trash.
Anybody else have an opinion on how much easier this game becomes when you can just outspend everyone else?I just beat a guy with every top diamond in the game last night, 6-2, so my guess is it doesn't become any easier because good cards cant make you hit a fastball, curveball or pitch very well.
all he is saying is that a bad player gets more room for error with great cards than maybe someone with decent cards and is actually the better player because those cards help make up for maybe said person's lack of skill..
but they don't, if you cant time a fastball or drop the PCI on every pitch, that mantle card isn't going to do much good for you, If you can't time the meter to get a good release on a pitch or even know the basics of pitching, changing speeds, working north-south, east-west...that Kluber card isn't going to help you very much.
What's the point of having cards with higher attributes if it doesn't mean anything? I guess the best players in the world could easily make WS with an all common team, right?
Still waiting for you to confirm that elite players can make WS with all commons, since juiced cards don't mean anything.
What don't you understand about what I am saying, first of all no one is going to world series with an all common team because the game gifts you diamonds just for playing, second, attributes contribute to the outcome of the RNG roll, but guess what if you can't get the PCI on the ball those stats dont matter, and even if the PCI is large enough for you to get it on the ball you need to square it up. Its the same with pitching, /9's factor into the RNG roll but if my opponent cant hit the ball it doesn't matter.
Stop pocket watching and get better at the game, one thing I have learned from this forum is that all of you want this game to be easy.
