First off I'm an old guy 62 to be exact and I just love baseball always have. Been playing Madden until I could get this on Xbox and this is my game of choice now. Keeps me sharp and I'm a kid at heart still. Here is my questions. First can't use the pinpoint pitching just have no idea how to do it so I use the analog. Any suggestions on hitting your spots better? When I miss it ends up 400 feet away nothing less. Also could some of you better players rank your pitches not pitchers? Also on your PCI hitting if I concentrate on it I am late on my swings. Serious questions guys and would appreciate the help. Thanks in advance.

I mostly play on PS5, but I do have a Series S as well. Pinpoint is a little wonky on the S due to the new controller, especially with the splitter. I've heard it works better with an Xbox One controller if you have one laying around.

I don't have much experience with analog, but I used meter prior to this year. Meter is pretty easy to use, and based on the pre release streams I think you get better control with meter.

Based on everything you said with missing by a lot and being very late, it sounds like you could be experiencing input lag. What kind of TV do you have, what is the resolution, and how old is it? Is there a game mode? Game mode would help a bit, although monitors result in the least input lag. I used to play on an old 720p Toshiba with no game mode a few years ago. It sucked. I got a 4K Sony Bravia with game mode which is much better, but since that has been on the fritz lately I've been using a monitor. That has been the best experience so far.

I'm an old guy too (60).

I've been playing MLBTS for several years, but, in the past, I've only played Franchise. This is the first year I started DD from the beginning and I have to say I enjoy the game a lot more (and I'm spending a lot more time on it).

Because I only played Franchise (on beginner and with my own created players) in the past, I developed a lot of bad habits that I'm slowly working my way out of. I find that Directional hitting is best for me. I am horrible at using other modes (not that I'm good to begin with, because I'm not).

For pitching, I use Pulse. I've tried Pinpoint as well as other modes and I'm more accurate with Pulse. Yes, it is the least effective and not good for competition, but I don't get as frustrated using it and my blood pressure pills don't have to go into overdrive 😉

I am doing much better since I switched to a monitor to play. It has helped my lag time and I'm actually early on most things now.

Hmm ..don't flick the stick. Control it down..hit the stop and then control it back up. If yer goin for corners ect ..take the stick at an angle then back up at the opposite angle. Takes practice, practice ,practice but you'll get there in no time

@lostdragon39_PSN thanks for the advise but one more really stupid question. I just bring the stick back up when I think I am where I need to be. Is this correct or can you stop it another way and then bring it up. If so, that would be a game changer for me.

@Pennstatefencer_MLBTS I'm using a monitor and it's new. I'm gonna check the settings on it and make sure it is where it needs to be. Thanks. That meter went too fast for me but I didn't work on it that much. Might of gave up too quick. Thanks

@Blind_Bleeder yeah I know what you mean but I enjoy trying to hang with the young guys. I could always hit as a kid but I haven't found a PCI that is comfortable for me. It seems too bulky and I'm more focused on it than my timing. Work in process but I love the game and you don't have to spend money to get a good team like in Madden.

There are some mini games in RTTS that helped me a ton with my PCI. I used to always skip them but that one in particular has been great. It basically just shows the strikezone and balls come from different angles and you need to move your PCI gently to them. It helped me not slamming my pci
