Topps (who also owns Bowman) is the only card company that has MLB rights. So all other companies have team colors but no logos and that is a no-go for me. I prefer to purchase hobby boxes since they all have at least one autograph in them (depending on which some have multiple autos). I usually end up buying hobby boxes of the mid-level price range ($100-$500/box).

Yeah. I bought a stadium club hobby box and got Kiriloff auto and dalton Varsho 1/20 auto. If you are doing it for fun, topps or bowman are fine. My local wal mart still carries blaster boxes and those are fun, but if you want to be serious about it hobby boxes or high end sets are the way to go ( national treasures, museum collection, inception etc)

I got lucky with a blaster box while watching an M's game at T-Mobile Park. I hit a Vlad Jr. 2019 Topps Gypsy Queen Blue Rookie Auto (#/150). That was what got me back into collecting cards again after 25 year break from the hobby!

Btw, topps is shutting down for now, so I would buy some topps, if they haven’t skyrocketed, or go for optic baseball

I know this sounds odd but, goodwill. If there’s one in your area they usually have thousands of late 70s-early 90’s cards in crusty tan boxes. I’ve mananged to get rookie biggio and randy Johnson from these old boxes

Topps Update is what you want. Series 1 has a ton of rookies in it from the 2020 season as well, beyond that any Topps Chrome is gonna be your highest value.
