Only other dude would be Soto and there’s nobody else in the nationals that could get a finest so it’s gotta be oneil for the lightning
As of right now it’s Kyle Tucker.
218 wRC+ and 1.5 fWAR compared to O’Neill’s 171 wRC+ and 1.3 fWAR.
Obviously a few good or bad games from either guy could change those numbers, but to say Soto is the only other guy is just wrong.
Could be. Even as a Cardinals fan I would not say that O'Neill is a sure thing. If they simply go by the numbers you gave then yes, Tucker seems like a good bet. But I am not sure how you can not take into account O'Neill's 10 HRs, 25 RBI's, 25 Runs, and 3 SBs
But as you said, with a week to go the numbers could swing for either player. Also, It does not look like fangraphs has updated with todays games. O'Neill went 3 for 9 with 2 HR's and 5 RBIs in the double header today.
You’re right. It’s updated now, and they’re both at 1.5 fWAR. Tucker still has a 214 wRC+ compared to O’Neill’s 178 though, which is a pretty considerable gap.

Really it comes down to who SDS chooses between these two. I would say both are frontrunners for the actual POTM award in their respective leagues, although O'Neill isn't a lock like Tucker is.

At this stage you could also throw in Goldschmidt into the mix, but I assume he was already scheduled to get an upgraded card at some point.

I think Harper can even be mentioned for the POTM...he's been raking and taking his walks.

And Soto already has a 97, it's Tyler's card. But SDS Fs up a lot
It wouldn't be an F up if Soto did get it though. Both players are in line for a finest.

I vote for Tyler. 5 tool guy

Goldy has had a good month too. Right?

For the MLB Player of the Month? Absolutely. But since he already has a 99 card I can't see The Show making him POTM. POTM will absolutely be a 99 when it comes out and Bryce already has a 99.

Yes. Batting .353 with 8 HRs, 18 RBIs and 28 runs scored.
Tied for 2nd in WAR for the month (with Harper and behind Soto)
He has 11 hits in his last 19 at bats. But I would think he would get a Sig Card at some point which may stop him from being included the The Show's POTM cards.

Just FYI O'Neill hit another one today. That is 11 HR's for the month

The Canadian Crusher better go diamond

Yeah, at this stage would tend to agree. While I don't see his Vision rating raising I am not sure how his clutch rating would not go up some with 26 RBIs in the month so far.

That shouldn't matter, but I guess it does. It would suck for someone who had a historic month and SDS also just released a 99 as well. What would SDS do? not saying harper had a historical month.

Bought in weeks ago when he was around 1500, so I’m on board here

Well, Soto has pretty much outplayed Harper and everyone else this month.
Adam Wainwright was the best Pitcher last month but did not get a Card because they had just released his Sig Series. Cj Cron should have been part of last months POTM program but he was left out entirely even though he did win the NL Player of the month from MLB. Many believe it is because he will be getting a Finest Card when they release.
And I understand it from SDS's side. What would be the point of a Harper POTM card that was essentially the same (or maybe a little worse) than his MVP card. Nobody would buy stubs to buy the MVP card for 300K plus.
