Any 99 Trevor Story, or any version of R.A. Dickey.

That Arrieta card has potential, especially if they give him outlier on the sinker.

Im pretty stingy with my stubs as well, but I’d drop a million on the old PS Carlos Beltran of the latter days. I know they don’t have his rights now, but I think that’s the best card I’ve ever played with.

Christ, PS Beltran is still to this day imo the greatest card to ever grace the game. Better than Mantle, better than Trout, better than PeePee himself.

Arrieta threw a no hitter two years in a row. The O's let him go like they do all their stars.

Tiant or Niekro, and looks like a couple guys above stole my thunder, Mr. Carlos Beltran.

I wouldn't say he was a "star" with them. Without looking up his stats, I thought I remembered him being a bust and almost out of minor league baseball all together. Basically the Cubs just struck gold on that trade.

The problem was when he was on the Orioles they wanted to fix him throwing mechanics. When he got traded they told him do what got you to the majors, then he really started to shine. So yes. You're not wrong. I give a lot of credit to Epstein(whatwver his name is) to his baseball mind. He did his thing with the Cubs and Red Sox.

    Who's Strop?

Pedro strop. A free agent mediocre reliever who played for the Cubs for like 7 years. He plays in the Dominican or something now. He was never a star.

Arrieta is so underrated every year. I always look forward to his cards. His stuff is always nasty and his speed differentials are perfect imo

Strop was never a star (and I didn’t claim he was), but he was an excellent setup man for several years in Chicago. He was picked up in the same deal, making the trade even more one-sided. By the way, Jake hasn’t done well since leaving either.

I'd love to see a 2005 Cy Young Chris Carpenter card someday.
