Outlier and pin point ruined the offense. Every game is slow death.
-
Yeah outlier isn’t fun. 102 can by all means be the top speed but it should play like a 99mph ball.
Wouldn’t you rather lost 10-8 than 2-1?
Come on SDS. Let’s make it fun.

No offense to you personally, but I think 10-8 games are [censored].
I like pitching and defense… would probably rather lose 2-1 than win 10-8.
-
runs arent offense. id prefer a 2-1 game if there is 15 combined hits and pitching strands runners.but an 8-6 game with 14 combined hits or a 2-1 game with 5 combined hits would be terrible.
-
It's bad. You can have a crazy rotation right now.
Lefty
Degrom
Verlander
Nolan
CrochetAll with 102 fastballs. But there are other options that don't have outlier. Vida, Felix, Leiter, peralta, ohtani and they are all just as difficult to hit.
Then the bullpen is all the same. Outlier fastballs, cutters and sinkers darting in every direction and sliders that look just like a fastball until the very last second. I honestly think sliders are the hardest pitch to hit.
If pitching wasn't broken then there no way you would still be seeing potm burned this late in the season.

Here's how outlier SHOULD work:
Full stamina - perfect input for velocity results in the full 102 and sometimes on not perfect input.
Yellow Stamina - perfect input only results in 102 velocity 75% of the time, and 101-100 other 25%
Red Stamina - Only get 102 50% on perfect inputs.
TL;DR - Outlier should slowly fade away as stamina goes down.
-
Outlier, yes. Pinpoint no IMO. Pinpoint could be a bit harder to perfect but this is the first year that you don't have to worry about every single curveball warping right down the middle. The main problem with pinpoint is stamina, which I'm not sure how hasn't been fixed yet. As far as outlier goes you shouldn't still be pumping 102 after 90 pitches. Its good in theory but Prime Verlander only hit 102 when he really reared back and tried to. Degrom hits 102 in real life but most of the time he sits 98-100
-
outlier was fine last year with 102mph
it's pinpoint that is the problem

That’s a really good point. Those games where I struggle to scratch across even a couple, yet consistently have runners getting into scoring position… that’s why I play. That feels like baseball.
Of course, those 5-combined games happen a lot, but is it really unrealistic for a good team to be pissed on by Nolan Ryan to the tune of 3 hits? I’m okay with that being a little too frequent so long as the arcade-style, super-happy-home-run-fun games are well tamped; that’s a good trade off for me. My condolences to those of you for whom it is not.

I agree pinpoint is fine (mostly). Its Outlier and stamina that are the issue. Its fine for a bullpen guy to come in and throw 102mph each pitch because they tend to throw 1 inning. Maybe 20 pitches.
Starters throwing 100 pitches shouldn't be hitting 102mph on their fastball every time unless they try to put a little extra on it (in which case stamina should decrease faster and accuracy should be negatively affected).
The one aspect of meter pitching I loved was the ability to control when you went to get "that little extra". There's no way to control how hard you throw with pinpoint. Needs to be a toggle or a button (kinda like slide stepping) that you hold when you select the pitch/throw that juices it up and stamina needs to be tanked accordingly.
-
Love facing outlier pitchers because everybody just tried to shove fastballs down your throat and they are the straightest pitches in the game!! Give me more so I can hit more tanks
-
If I don't have a hit or run by the 3rd inning I quit. Cause that game will not be a good time I promise you.

I get what you're saying and I wouldn't mind losing 2-1, if I didn't feel like I was overmatched the entire time. Especially when these events and BR games are supposed to be on All Star. I can play CPU on All Star and while I don't do as well as on rookie, I can at least time the pitches and make contact. In online games, I feel like I have to just get lucky sometimes against guys like Ohtani and Degrom.
Then I have to hear the moron color guy wondering why I'm late on the fastball, when the name of the game is get to the heater. Yeah, well he's got like 5 other pitches...haha.

Exactly. I feel like I don't what's coming or how fast or slow it's coming most of the time. Meanwhile these guys I'm facing are smoking perfect perfect bombs no matter what I throw or where I throw it. Burying a slider or curveball and they're still right on it. I mean I can't get mad at myself for a good pitch but it sure is frustrating.
