hey, mlb the show.
I have completed all the V.S. CPU missions and moments for the field of dreams player program, leaving me at 98/100. and look im willing to admit that I suck at showdowns. but don't you think you have made it, so that a player can complete it with only doing conquests, v.s. cpu missions and moments. -
You can also play some event games. Or do you prefer they just put all the rewards in your inventory?

I had to do showdown 9 times before I finally beat it. It was definitely not fun whatsoever. Hopefully they’ll add something at some point but if they haven’t added it by now, they probably won’t.

As a offline only player who sucks at showdown and failed it twice I bit the bullet and tried the event. It took me 10 games to get 5 wins. 2 of them where from players that quit. If I can do it anyone can, I am not very good at the game and struggle to hit vs the CPU on all star.

I won 25 games in event and did the moments took about 3 days to complete FOD. Forget showdown not worth the stress.

I wish more people would give it a chance. Even if you can't get the wins, you can definitely get the strikeouts.
The thing that gets me is there is really no such thing as an "Online Only" player but there is an "Offline Only" player but you don't hear the "Online" players complaining that they can't get the prospect players by playing online, we just tolerate the mindless offline conquest grind to get them or buy them. Or the fact that we can't complete some of the programs without playing offline. I just don't understand why "Offline" players constantly make such a big deal about, in the case of the FoD program, going online and tolerating it for a few games to get the Ks to complete it.
This does not apply to you @Pdoss3_PSN, I applaud you for tolerating something you don't enjoy. I am just lumping it into one comment -
Kind of like for the Schwarber July program. Had to complete the stupid collection for 30 pts in order to gain the 2 pts needed. Honestly, IMO it's easier to beat a showdown than it is to complete a collection of cards you sold without knowing the consequences of selling them LOL,

I am just lumping it into one commentOne of the differences here is you can buy the prospects earned through conquest. In the FOD program, you can’t buy Clemente. I agree there should be online methods to earn offline programs.

I really wanted to finish that program so I tried it out. I might try some ranked before my month runs out, doubt I will renew it.

That was kind of dumb but you now know for future PotM Programs that you can buy the remaining cards that you need for the collection and lock them in for the 30 pts to reduce the moments/missions required. Then sell the ones you get throughout the program.

Shame on me for not even thinking of that. I completely forgot that you need PS Plus to play online. I actually kind of get the complaining now.
Edit: I have had PS plus for so long and it automatically renews every year. So it is sort of an out of sight, out of mind thing for me.

I had no interest in Schwarber at all which is why I sold them. Then he became a member of the Sox and I had to have him. Collected maybe 26K total and then ended up spending about 110K to get the 15 required. Lesson learned.

I’m not really an online player either but just get the 10 Ks with White Sox pitchers. Even if you suck and lose, you should be able to get the strikeouts with Carlos Rodon.

All of this! just suck it up and do the event. I got one win from someone that quit. Got my 5 wins and haven't been back to it since!

Didn't even get the 5 wins (Stalled out at 2-9).
Got the WS Ks, the Yankee hits, collected Roberto, and thank you very much!

When it was showdown or 5 event wins - it was a lot to ask those who didnt want to.
now that you can get to 98 and only need 10Ks or 10 H- thats not a lot to ask. -
When does this event end? I'm waiting to see if they'll add more ways to get points offline, but don't want to miss the easy ones with the CWS K's and NYY TB if nothing else is added.
