Did you not see the pitch mix they gave him with outlier and 125 k/9 and good control? Degrom is dethroned son and I’m so happy! They did my boy JV justice for once!

He’s been good, historically speaking. His SS in 19 was probably in the top 5 starters.

He’s been good, historically speaking. His SS in 19 was probably in the top 5 starters.
I disagree. He was loved by a very select few in 19 but was massively overrated. There were only 13 99 SP in 19, 3 of which were Cy Young, Christy Mathewson, and Strasburg, who were garbage. BTW the top 5 were Kershaw, Ryan, Sale, Greinke, and Feller

I’d slot Verlander or even Bumgarner in over Ryan. He was only good against people that couldn’t hit his pre-outlier fastball.

He was only ok to bad that year I agree but this is by far the best JV we’ve ever seen
