This year's version is extremely disappointing. I only play online and I feel that the winner is predetermined by first pitch. Mistake pitches don't amount to positive results yet your opponent will have success with balls outside of the PCI. Regardless of whether you hit with power swing (square) or X. Even if 90% of your swings are good or perfect they are going to end up being outs. Unless you're the predetermined winner. I have been playing MLB The Show since it's debut in '06 and it had it's issues through the years but through the years improvements were made. I thought they would have it right by now but they totally missed the mark with this one. outside of the graphics the game is trash.

And for the record MLB The Show 21 online played fluid and true to the game during its early release and then it progressively got worse. I know I am not the only player experiencing games in which no matter what adjustments you make, how many balls you square up, the end result is an out. Then to add insult to injury your opponent can't seem to make an out even pitches bounced on the ground get fouled and then a ball up and in gets hit 400 feet with late timing and ball not squared up at all. But that's realistic, right???? The game is absolute trash.

Yes it is. I see the baserunning and just lmao as that is not even remotely like real baserunning except that they run in a diamond shape. Honestly if you know and love the true game its unplayable. All these get good bums make me laugh the most, i play on the hardest difficulty for pitching and batting and have some of the same issues these other posters are complaining about. This game is a joke and wont get better because of these clowns.

Only reason SO many players are claiming the game is off and sucksss.. is cause of thee simple fact that they cranked down what we know as sliders, for us.

Not like anyone from this company would admit tho🙄.

I am also an average player and lose a lot of the challenges but still enjoy the game. Mostly I do franchise and once in a blue moon I’ll try the challenges. To be honest I often wonder what’s the use of collecting the cards?

Offline the game plays fine other than occasional goofy animations. Online is a completely different ballgame… awful and still doesn’t reward skill vs RNG. I’m not the best by any means but my players are mostly around 300-350 batting average yet I consistently lose to dudes batting at the Mendoza line. Mainly Bc they use degrom or Cabrera and get a few lucky bombs on my. They also spam the fastball over and over in the same spot and I can’t touch it. IMO if you don’t know how to properly pitch or progress through sequencing, and spam over and over, you should get shelled

With that same token, if your opponent is simply spamming fb you should be crushing the ball

This game is horrible.. I’ve been playing for years and they haven’t improved rtts at all! It’s even worse now. It’s called THE SHOW and it’s not even close to a career mode anyone wants. It’s the most bland and boring thing out of all sports my careers. They need to fix the hitting physics because they are also horrid. The game is to hard for the average user. They also need to do something with DD for players that aren’t as good cause this is ridiculous

I'm not very good myself but I still enjoy it. I have post concussion issues and have difficulty with my reflexes and hand eye coordination. I play rookie and veteran modes and do just fine and enjoy the game. I don't think it would be fair to those who are excellent at this game to have it generally simplified to make it easier for everyone to have success at the highest levels. You just can't do that.

I have resorted to playing earlier versions of The Show so that I can enjoy having different players work their way to the Majors. What were these guys smoking when they came up with RTTS 2021? Wasn't good stuff for sure. I will not be purchasing 2022 version until I see reviews.

Not having a PS, I am new to this game and cannot compare it with its earlier iterations.
That being said, I think it's a great game. I'm quite terrible at it, can't play online (not smooth enough to hit), so my experience is limited to RTTS and some DD (conquest, moments, showdowns). I've enjoyed collecting cards, grinding archetypes for diamond gear and perks. I don't think I've played much else since April, not since RDR2 have one game held my attention for so long a stretch of time.
Last but not least: it has not cost me a dime, since I already had GamePass.

DD ruins the game for casuals . Makes then have to play against the most toxic clowns.

No. You don't. I have been playing MLBTS for many years but this is my first year to play DD. (I played only Franchise before). I don't play online and I have been enjoying DD very much. You don't have to play clowns or goofs. If you want to play online, find a friend a or two and play friendlies, otherwise, there is no need. If you really want a card that is offered in an online program, then okay, I get it, but there are plenty of great cards out there to earn without playing online.

No. You don't have to buy stubs to enjoy the game. Earn the cards you want. Play the market if you want to make more stubs. But you don't have to buy stubs to enjoy the game - not at all.
