Honestly, I do not know how anyone can enjoy doing the same Moment over and over for an hour. That is why I hate Moments. I do not mind the easy ones, but ones like 8 TB or 3 XBH (even 2 XBH when the player is not that good) drive me nuts.

I avoid all of the topps now unless I REALLY need stubs

Don't think I'm saying anything that hasn't been posted here before, but I spent a few hours the last couple of days grinding moments and need to vent some frustrations and make some suggestions. I imagine some of this would apply to Showdown as well.

Fielding Animations - I get that in real baseball home runs get robbed and players make diving catches, but maybe cut down on how often those animations take away a perfect/perfect hit. Just go with one where I hit it right to a guy. Really rubs salt in the wound when you do everything right and get robbed multiple times in the span of a few minutes via plays that would be nominated for an ESPY.

Agree. The AI fielders become real tryhards in Moments, while they field casually in every other mode.

Power swing and take pitches is my advice. It completely changed how I look at moments.

Difficulty - I don't doubt that the listed difficulty is accurate in terms of PCI size and pitch speed, but the outcomes after the swing are pretty clearly less rewarding to the hitter than in other modes. Some clarity on this would be nice.

Good point. It's as if they blow-up the PCI size to reflect rookie or whatever, but still have it in HoF mode relative to outcomes. Don't know that we'll ever get clarity on this though.

You've got great points, but most of what you mentioned is the "smoke and mirrors" intentionally (not accidentally) coded into this game to make it "exciting" while also dictating outcomes and the resulting animation they queue up to paint on your screen to support the outcome without a lot of emphasis on controller input.

I just don't see them fixing an intended design.

I only ask for multiple game moments to be able to skip to next game like RTTS implemented 3-4 years ago

If you get hit by a pitch in a hitting moment, you should automatically succeed, end of story.

You know I'm pretty sure I'm in the minority here, but I really love moments. I don't care much for the dailies that require my CAP player. I don't maintain one.

Yeah so this all definitely applies to Showdown. Just tried Ryan and if that’s really Veteran as it exists in other vs. cpu modes I’ll eat my hat. I hope there’s not a must-have player hidden behind extreme showdown this year I have no interest in playing that mode ever again. Never not infuriating.

Yeah, I like the idea of it but I'm just not good enough to complete one.

Yes. But when you do conquer it it feels amazing. It rarely happens for me but I managed to do it during Double XP week and therefore 4th inning was the first inning I fully completed.

Depending on where I am that last week of a given inning maybe it’d be worth a shot for double xp hadn’t thought of that. I probably play enough where I won’t need the xp that last week tho. Or at least not badly enough to put up with that mode. I have no life.

Funny, higher difficulties are easier, somehow...

I think it is because of how slow the pitches are on Vet or Rookie. I play All Star or HOF during conquests even when I don't have to because I cant hit slow pitches. Kyle Hendricks I can hit at all lol.

Get 6 total bases. You get walked twice and that doesn’t even count as one

Get extra base hits and the pitcher is always on In front of you. Somehow he has an on base percentage in the 1000’s

Moments are too dam made up

Cody summarized it pretty well. The things we are all itemizing about moments are obviously coded into the game on purpose.
Getting SDS to change them (like actually making the difficulties accurate and NOT tweaking sliders at all) would require a major paradigm shift in the game design.

Sadly, I just don’t see that happening unless and until some healthy competition enters the market for MLB games.

I just want to know why moments play different than another game mode? The RNG is brutal. Perfect Perfect ground outs but I'm under and early on a cutter but it is crushed? Also how do I swing through a change up down the middle with good pCI and swing timing? I'm waiting for the next "moment" where you have to play through a whole season. Lol
