Cards are worth what people are willing to pay. His price is relatively high since the BR program is still somewhat new and some people may have used him for the collection. I think there is also a stub sale going on. The cost will likely drop over time.
There are free options at every position that will keep you in the game and are an infinitely better value. To some people no card is worth the cost on the market, but the stubs aren't going to transfer to 22. People will use the stubs they have on the players they want, and since stubs are really easy to come by via flipping and investments, inflation occurs. I bought Harper yesterday for around 290K and I may not even ever use him. For people that collect every card, 300K is a drop in the bucket. I made at least 150K flipping LS diamonds today when I was watching TV, and I know plenty of people routinely make more per day.

Ya the only card worth that much is Jansen. I was a little skeptical about him but he’s now my favorite card in the game as a closer!
