SDS - 1st Inning PCI Glitch
-
Alright guys and gals, here I am, an Xbox player and World Series competitor each of the three seasons. I rubber-band in between 900-1000 at the moment, if that helps you understand my online skill level.
Out of a six or seven game rotation, I will load in as the home team in a World Series game, on legend, yada yada yada. And the visiting player's PCI is literally on Veteran or All-Star. Absolutely massive. In WS games, every team is stacked with Chipper, etc. and it makes it extremely difficult, if not impossible, to escape the first inning unscathed. The frustrating part is that it returns to legend in the bottom of the 1st.
For example, I just played this guy. Pitched Vida. Scores 2 in the Top of the 1st off bloop hits and slow rollers that would K's on legend or HOF. Has four (fake) hits with Acuna, Chipper, Trout, and Ortiz. Then, in the 2nd inning, his PCI returns to legend and has one hit the rest of the game.
Has anyone else had this issue? I have not been on the receiving end of it yet, however I would like to be one day.

Lol. It is still Chinese to me when I play weens_19 or heyna. I still have a long way to go myself.

I think it’s only visual. When I hit first on legend my feedback shows a pci with normal size of the difficulty

What if the player DM's me talking [censored] about how he got an advantage? I know there are visual glitches in the game, I just found this hard to believe as he got 4 hits in the first and 1 the entire rest of the game.
-
Maybe he was contact swinging and benefited from bigger outer pci. I’ll check again when I play later tonight
-
Yeah this [censored] [censored] happens to me all the time and now that I’m aware of it my only option is to pitch around and throw nothing but chasers and hope I get out untouched. And I also play in legend & HOF and it’s not easy to score runs. So when the game gives my opponent a PCI the size of the strike zone and they score 1 and 2 runs on my I get pissed. Cuz a lot of my games are always close and just like your games my opponent usually can’t hit my pitches when the pci is the correct size for the level of difficulty that it should be. And I gotta grind all 9 innings just to get those runs back if I’m lucky enough to. And I know that if the person is in a lower division than u that u play on their difficulty but the PCI is always bigger in the first inning no matter what difficulty you’re playing on and after the top of the first is over it goes to the size it should be. I’ve lost so many games because of this smfh. And more than half the time my opponent is actually trash and can’t hit after the 1st inning.
-
I bounce back and forth between all star and pennant race. What is this mythical legend difficulty that you speak of? lol.
-
I've noticed this but I'm pretty sure it's just a visual thing. I know I haven't hit with big PCIs in the first inning.
-
I’ve experienced it so many times and I disagree. Because how is it that the majority of my opponents conveniently suck for the whole game after the the first inning and those runs they score in the first are the runs that decide the game for me? And it sucks even more when I have to grind it out the whole 9 innings and they get to play with a comfortable lead. This needs to be looked into because im not the only one who thinks this. Most ppl don’t even wanna go out their way to put this on a forum. But im so fed up with it that I made an account just to comment here and hope something gets done about it.

It’s when your PCI becomes the size of a dot and it’s almost impossible to hit anything fast. If you play it enough your eyes get used to the speed but it’s still hard to make solid contact with most pitches. But it doesn’t help when your opponent gets the benefit of a PCI the size of the whole strike zone in the first inning and then u have to play from behind for the majority of the game if your not lucky enough to get those runs back .

You’re not the only one and I agree with everything you’re saying. I don’t agree that it’s just visual. Because every time I’ve experienced this happen to me my opponents for the most part score all of their runs if not the majority of them on me in the first and then conveniently suck for the remainder of the game. This can’t be a coincidence. I’ve played enough games to know by now. And when the glitch happens for me it works the same way because runs are hard to come by as they should at legend and HOF difficulty.

They say it's just visual and has been a thing all season. Whether it's just visual or not, at least know your opponent doesn't have the advantage because your PCI looks the same to them in the first inning.

Whoever “they” is must just be the ppl who play the game in general just like us. I’ve seen and heard nothing from the makers of the game. So until they say something I don’t think I believe that for the reasons I’ve mentioned above.

Well like I also mentioned. At least it's the same way for everyone. It's not like one person is at a disadvantage

Yea the first team to bat in the top of the first inning has the advantage. My PCI is never the same size unless I’m the away team and I bat first in the top of the first inning. Cuz once it’s the bottom of the 1st my PCI has never been huge.

Hummm, interesting. I have only noticed that when you are pitching opponents PCI looks bigger. So when they are pitching yours looks bigger. Not when I am batting. But maybe it is like that on legend only? Not sure.

It’s probably like that on all difficulties but on the lower ones no one notices because everyone’s PCI is naturally bigger just for the simple fact that it’s an easier level of difficulty. But when the difficulty increases the PCI gets smaller. But I only ever see this occur when I’m the first team to bat in the top of the first and my PCI is abnormally larger than it should be or if I’m pitching first in the top of the first inning and my opponents pci is the size of the strike zone. Sometimes on occasion the PCI isn’t big at all in the top of the first but it’s rare. I always pay attention to this because after the [censored] I’ve experienced I’m convinced it does give an advantage. I don’t believe that “it’s visual” [censored].
