Prices up tomorrow, right??
-
I've been collecting flashbacks/legends for the past month or so getting ready for the new collection, I have everything less than 50k. I'm confident I'll have everything needed for day 1, but worst case I'll be a few short on Awards, Sig, Prime, and Milestone. I have around 250k stubs right now.
I'm thinking of just spending the rest of my stubs for 4-6 guys in the 50k-60k range. If I don't end up needing them, there's no way they'll lose value, right??
-
The only way I could see them losing value is if they go down in price.
-
I think it depends on the collection player. A lot of people are holding onto cards right now.
-
I just don't want to wait until tomorrow and then see all the 60k stuff going for 100k...

That’s why playing the stock market is similar to gambling.

I'm looking for opinions, particularly educated ones based on previous experiences...Not just nonsense
-
Would the 4th Inning Boss Eddie Murray be in these collections?
I've got him and like him a little bit but if he shoots up in price more I'll be selling him likely. -

Yes, prices will go up.
There will be a major price uptick right as the content drops as people scramble to buy up stuff on the cheap to complete removing alpt of inventory.
From there proces will remain high for until there is a pack sale or flash sale.
The xbox stub sale has already caused a price increase and if a PS stub sale where to start tomorrow that could cause further flux.
Cards that will be the biggest jump are old WS, BR and inning program cards no longer available. For example gold Dan Plesac will be 30k tomorrow. If you have cards like this you have to decide what is more valuable? Tge collection card day one or max value for a card.
Bottom line card prices are going up no matter who the reward is and if its a card that is very desirable like a Aaron, Griffey, Albert guys of nature it could be even more.
-
It depends what is required. Last year, the post season cards and HR derby cards went way up in price. Others were somewhat stagnant as they didnt need as many of that category.
If we need, say 25 post season or 2nd half hero cards for a voucher, they should explode in value. If they require just 10 of them, they will go down. So it all depends on the requirements.

Sell before, not after.

Not sure on this advice. I did this last year , selling the day before the Trout collection. I did well but would have tripled minimum what I made if I had waited until after it dropped.

This will be the case with gold prospects they will explode in value tomorrow

Items likely to see the biggest increase
Old Topps Now from April and May
BR cards no longer in reward pack
WS cards no longer in reward pack
BR program cards
Old inning reward henchmen/bosses -
I'm hoping I just don't need those prospects...I have everything else.

100% you will need 30 of them that is why they made the change to conquest to get all 30 gold in one conquest run. I expect to see the gold prospects to exceed the 10k mark tomorrow even pushing the 20k mark.
-
Definitely grabbing a Machado under 50k today. I just doubled my stubbs buying Joc Pedersons Thursday night and selling yesterday

In the long term, you will not lose on cards you can't get anymore like ws, br and events unless they do something crazy and make them available again which they haven't done before.
The price volatility is going to depend on how hard or easy it is to complete collection. Safest best is to buy the cheapest cards in each collection as these will be the ones peeps buy first to complete. Also spread it out and buy some from each collection. One or two will be harder to complete than others.
Ps. If you buy pack cards like KS, be mindful of a flash sale. It will tank their value.

So I should start rerunning the USA map tonight? lol. That'd be a pretty profit since I already have all of them.

That's what I'm doing today/tomorrow morning, at least to get a few of the prospects.
