Ballplayer has Diamond defense in RTTS but not DD

Are you playing him in a secondary position?
Only fielding stat has to do with the shield, 80+ is gold, 90+ is diamond

Thanks for clearing up that fielding is the only attribute that has to do with the shield.
Saying that. Would 99 speed make up for 88 reaction? I could change my perks around for more power if reaction is not as important with 90+ fielding & 99 speed.

there could be the teammate boost getting you to 90+ fielding in RTTS or it could also be you are playing a secondary position for that archetype
I'm using the "EL NINO" Diamond archetype, which is for a CF & I am playing my Ballplayer at CF in DD, so he shouldn't be taking the out of position hit on ratings

Reaction: 92or

Fielding:94
Reaction:88I would prefer the build with slighty more power but changed it due to me thinking I needed 90+ reaction for diamond defense. Now that I know that I don't need 90+ reaction for Diamond defense, I think the power build is just fine with 88 reaction.

I am so confused by the whole Ballplayer thing just in general this year. My RttS guy is at 90 OVR and he has the gold archetype (or whatever). But the only Ballplayer I can find for DD is a 65 Bronze. I thought it would generate a new card when I unlocked the silver then the gold archetype levels, but I guess it doesn't work like that? In previous years we would end up with several versions of our CAP in the inventory, but now I've just got the one. I dunno. Whatevs. I really should be working right now.

According to this guide, as well as actually looking at the archetype in game, it is for a CF. I assume the "El Nino" name is for what the attributes boost most (PWR, SPD, Fielding)

Best guide I've found about Ballplayer, as I was looking for a replacement for Buxton, didnt like the options and decided to make a CF Ballplayer
