Yeah Griffey ain’t gonna be a 99 OVR Reds card. SDS made all of Griffey’s 99 OVR cards in the past as Mariners because that’s where he was the best player. He sucked in CinncinatiThat was before milestones cards existed. No one knows Kenny Lofton as a member of the White Sox or Steve Finley as a giant. Tom Glavine in a Mets card is almost criminal. If Griffey gets a milestone card, it will be for the Reds.
All valid points for debate. Lofton and Finley arent in the same ballpark as Griffey though. I also assumed Glavine was given the Mets card because they have had few historic options for their franchise on DD. I remember they even had to put Tebow on the All Time Mets Team for the Ruth grind. The Braves have an extraordinary amount in comparison, and also just got Aaron added this year.
I think it would be a crime if the Mariners best player wasnt represented with the best version of Griffey.
It won't be an issue with an Awards, Signature, or prime card. Those will all be with the M's. And likely Griffey will get one of those 3 series. If it's a milestone card though it literally has to be for the Reds just because that's how they made milestones work
Oh no, I get it. I understand the rationalization, and the points made are clear. It's just asinine if the franchise best player isnt with that franchise. It would be like giving Mays (best Giant ever) a Mets 99 milestone card for 650 HRs

I agree however it's clear that SDS has a focus on changing up cards this year as we haven't seen to many repeat cards released yet. The only one I can think is the Awards Tori Hunter.
A Reds Griffey Jr would be a great shake up and based on the most recent tease Nolan Ryan is coming and it will be with the Rangers so the team shake up is happening

The career Milestone cards are still based on your whole career, it's just what team they played for when they achieved that milestone

I think a lot of people straight up thought you were just disrespecting griffey, or they aren't aware how milestones cards work. Probably a little of both
