Number of questions about DD mechanics

I remember this post from Victor in regards to Vision's affect on timing windows awhile back. It isn't much, but I doubt you're going to get details when it comes to the actual formula they use.
Yeah I remember this post too and to be honest it created more questions than answers in my opinion. If they have the numbers, which I'm certain they or at least the devs themselves have, then why wouldn't they share them? It's not like it's a secret receipe or something.

Because I think their formulas if they even have any are completely jacked up. How do you explain that silver Alberto mondesi with power in the 50s hits Moon shots but then you got guys in the 90s Power that seemed to have low exit velocities and don't hit nearly as many home runs?

I only have a question about the inner and outer pci. I'm under the assumption that the inner pci is the contact point and that the outer pci represents the actual vision of the batter up at the time? Been playing since 14, so I may just be ill informed, but that's where I'm at, which actually leads me to the real questions:
How can someone, including myself, hit a no doubt home run when the ball is not even in the contact point of the pci? Secondly, if someone fouls off a pitch which is actually out of the vision section of the pci, how can this happen? They clearly didn't see the ball properly.
Is the swing feedback that we are seeing on the screen actually correct, or is it wrong? Is it just a guesstimate?

Good questions, there has been a lot of debate about this as well throughout the years. Ramone once tried to explain that the feedback and the PCI don't really represent the barrel of a bat but then he tried to explain what it is and he got lost himself. Raised more questions than answers. But that's the whole problem in my opinion, the devs are the ones who have all the answers, so they should just do some Q&A with either the community or their community managers so that we be informed.

I have wondered this one myself. Many times vs CPU, I will throw a pitch up and in, with the batter fouling it off and the feedback shows he swung down and away. The fouled pitch is at least the equivalent of 6-8 baseballs outside of the outer PCI. At that point, the feedback has to be wrong, because how is the CPU fouling a pitch off like that when they missed it by nearly the entire length of the strike zone?

In previous years the accounted for the swing timing in the feedback as well. Meaning that if you held the PCI down in the zone but swung very early, the contact point would be higher up in the zone and not low in the zone where your PCI was. The idea behind this was that that's the area where you'd make contact with the baseball based on your timing. I don't know if it still applies though, because again they never really communicate these things.

@Collin_SDS_PSN @SDS_Jax_PSN @Victor_SDS_PSN can you guys maybe provide an update or an acknowledgement or something about these listed questions? I see threads getting locked, so at least one of you is active. Any form of communication would be appreciated. Cheers guys!

I had a post moved to off topic (on a Sunday) within a cpl hours of creating it so clearly these guys are on the forums more than their posts or censorship indicate lol

I'd like to see these answers too.

I thought my trick question would get one reply at least. I can only assume answering some of these gives away the “secret sauce” which is why they don’t/can’t answer.

Either that or they really don't know and coded a poor product that they can't admit publicly.

Daily request for the mods to take a look at this thread and please provide information if possible. If you guys don't have the answers right away, that's totally fine- that's an answer too.

This thread is mostly directed to the moderators of this forum, @Collin_SDS_PSN @SDS_Jax_PSN and maybe other mods that I'm not aware of.
I've been around these forums for a few years now and I can't help but notice the lack of communication, help and/or explanations behind certain gameplay elements. All you guys seem to do is police this forum (inconsistently as well I may say), and even though I understand and agree that policing these forums is neccessary, I feel like you guys could (maybe even should) take on a larger role than just slamming the ban hammer around. This thread is not meant as a way of giving you guys a hard time, but this is genuinely how I feel and I'm fairly certain more people around here would agree with this sentiment.
So I have written down a number of questions that I have had for years surrounding DD and gameplay mechanics in general. It would be awesome if you guys took some time to answer them, as they are pretty straight forward questions in my opinion.
Note that I'm looking for numbers and metrics that we can apply, not for explanations about a mechanic or how it works/what it does. For example, in FPS games like COD they communicate the exact "time to kill" per weapon/attachment/perk and so on. They give you the exact numbers they work with. I'm looking for the same type of information here.
- How does pitcher stamina regeneration work in DD (how much % regains per X games rested)?
- Is there a difference in stamina regeneration between RP/CP and SP, and if so, how does it differ?
- Does the vision attribute only affect the size of the area of being able to foul off pitches, or does it also narrow/widen the timing windows, and if so, how is this calculated (For example having a vision attribute of 80+ gives you 5ms extra on the "good timing" window, or widen the green area on the swing feedback)?
- How exactly does the clutch attribute translate in Diamond Dynasty gameplay? I have heard it gives a "small boost" with RISP when the clutch rating is high, but exactly how large and what kind of a boost is given at exactly what rating threshold?
- Same goes for pitching clutch, how exactly does this translate for pitchers in DD gameplay? How much and what kind of a boost (or penalty) is given if the PCLT rating is at a certain threshold?
- How does HR/9 affect the hitting outcome and generated exit velocity?
- What exactly are the thresholds for pitcher confidence and what exact boosts/penalties are integrated with these thresholds?
- How exactly does yellow/red pitcher energy affect the outcome of the at bat? Does it only mean locating pitches becomes harder, or does it also mean that hitting input from your opponent is more forgiving, and if so, what are the numbers behind this?
- Does the baserunning aggressiveness attribute in DD affect how fast a player runs the bases, or is just a simulation attribute like some users have implied?
- How exactly is a PVP match set up from a networking perspective and what would be ideal to keep the latency as low as possible?
- How does a batter's tendency influence an at bat precisely? Are the timing windows for example larger on inside pitches, when the batter's tendency is extreme pull?
If anyone else comes up with additional questions that I might have forgotten, please add them in this thread so we can hopefully get some clarification on these topics. I think many, if not all of them, are very easy to answer if you have those numbers and if you're willing to share them (I wouldn't see why not?).
Thank you in advance for your efforts and I'm looking forward to your replies.
Added questions from other users:
- does warming up a pitcher make any difference? @lewisnadasurf1_PSN
- Does confidence effect pinpoint input and if so how? @Kovz88_PSN
- Why don’t you respond to your community? @Bounceman75_PSN
- Do hot and cold zones affect gameplay at all? @nash_524_PSN
Why is the feedback broken? I.E. the no PCI Homeruns

I have added your question to the post.

What gives a larger boosts to pitcher confidence...throwing strikes in the zone or throwing out of zone pitches for missed swings? Do they differ at all in terms of confidence boost?
-
Still nothing. Man, it shouldn't be this hard to get a response from a company when you buy there product year after year. If nothing else it would be a show of good faith. I'm from the south, and those things still hold value to me and I'm sure many others all over this country and world.

Yeah I agree, I'm also starting to learn towards the feeling of disrespect because I know Collin specifically has been active in recent days, and it's fair to assume he has seen this thread. Saying you don't know or need feedback from the devs, that's fine too that's an answer. But now I feel like this thread is being intentionally ignored and that's a bad message to be sending to a loyal community in my opinion.
