Could someone let San Diego Studios please know that you're NOT SUPPOSED TO TALK ABOUT A PERFECT GAME?!?!?!?! I mean, it's every batter.... "[Team] has yet to get any hits...." C'mon guys, this is supposed to be THE baseball game and you can't even get that right. Jeesh.

Just about every broadcast I've seen in real life where one is going on has mentioned it several times in the game, It's more rare for it not to get mentioned by a broadcaster tbh

They can infer or refer but it's considered the height of bad luck to explicitly state that the team has no hits. I've heard broadcasters tell the audience to "look at the scoreboard".

I've heard plenty of announcers say things like "no hits after 5" very directly. Like I said it's rarer for them to only make references or not say anything. What you describe above really isn't much of a thing anymore. That line of thought is more used as a comedic joking thing nowadays.

Every game I've ever watched with no hits past 4 or 5 innings the announcers mention it constantly.

I've heard both on TV (mentioning it and not mentioning it). My favourite example of this has to be the broadcaster, seeing a hit to lead off the game, say "Well we don't have to worry about that today."

This superstition is really about other players not talking about it to the pitcher that the fans have adopted. Do you have the mlb app? I start getting notifications after 5 innings about pitchers having a no hitter or perfect game. Announcers mention it often
