You have to remember that the derby is tonight too and there's a content drop right after the HRD. SDS is smart, they know that they want to give the HRD winner a card. But what happens if they release the collection reward today at 3pm and then Ohtani also wins, after already having an All Star card?
SDS is really smart with how they've done things thus far. They don't release the card yet and tbf they could bump up his power or find a way to make the release better after the derby. -

I was wondering why so many are giving him the win over Juan Soto before the derby starts! Soto is maybe the best lefty hitter in the game, or at least the NL. Don't sleep on him. -

Iām an Angels fan and love Ohtani, but my pick to win is Pete Alonso. The experience factor. Also, high elevation is gonna make these guys tired faster

Ohtani almost hit it out of the entire stadium taking about a 70% swing in batting practice.

Don't sleep on him.Lol, because it is Home Run derby. Batting in baseball games dont really translate to hitting homers only off batting practice pitches. Also requires a different type of swing. One reason many guys skip this event.
