So, the biggest critic of 1.04 all of a sudden (even yesterday he was critical during stream) all of a sudden has a change of heart? Hmmmm, that’s not fishy.

That part confuses me the most. I recently watched his youtube video where he managed to come back down 8 runs in the 8th to win.... but in that video, he constantly got shafted with the good/okays.
He tweeted again saying something along the lines of "I'm 45-4, and I deserved all 4 losses" which I can kinda agree with, but at the same time, there are glaring issues with the game that can't be ignored

If he points out those glaring flaws and criticizes the game he wont get invited to "winter meetings" to implement all his favourite cheese moves. Anyone who is ok with the game, specifically hitting and pitching in its current state is entitled to their opinion, but I am not taking their opinion seriously or any future opinions they have.

Haha SDS prob through him a couple million stubs to change his mind.

He's right to an extent, and my post was dramatic and an over exaggeration earlier. I admit that and like I said, it's got some serious potential.
But at the same time, he's saying the same thing we're all saying. Pitch speeds fine. We want to be more rewarded on our good swings, especially in higher levels where it counts. Fielding is broken. Those two things, along with many others are pretty bad though and costing people games. and we shouldn't stop letting SDS know about it. Because he's THE BEST PLAYER IN THE WORLD, he's able to overcome this a little more, but to the marginal players, it's chaos. I agree, Just maybe chill on the forums(myself included) and social media.
It's a good thing to change attitude and just realize we got what we got, and they're going to build off this, not revert the entire thing. I do like that part. They just gotta do SOMETHING. that's my take on it.

Agreed. I'm glad he mentioned the good/okays and fielding. He's good enough to the point where he has good PCI placement on so many pitches that some of them are just bound to be perfect/perfects. For guys like me who aren't as good, those good/okays can just kill you, especially if your opponent is on the other side of the RNG luck. Not saying I'm never on the good RNG side, just saying it shouldn't be RNG to begin with.
Also agree that we're just gonna have to accept that they aren't gonna revert anything, as sad as that may be to accept. I'll keep an open mind and try out the next patch, but I just can't play this game in its current state

I think part of it is many of the complaints on here are coming from people who are still playing on all star. The game was a disaster on all star last year too. Once you got up to hof it was pretty good and on legend it was even better. He has clearly been playing 20 on hof and legend for probably a week or two because he is way out of all star so the game is playing better for him. No matter what they do with patches this year the game will probably always play like [censored] on all star because the intention is to remove the skill gap to some extent.

True that most people on here play on all star, but the same issues exist on Legend. Watch any one of his youtube videos since the patch and you'll see plenty of perfectly placed PCIs resulting in good/okay contact

I think there’s a bit of an overreaction from players about the hitting (myself included). I can say from personal experience that I’ve adjusted to the timing on AS and HOF. It isn’t ideal, but people are being a little over the top with their criticisms. I think it needs to be fixed and increase the actual pitch speed.
The good/okays are a bit annoying at times for sure, but I honestly think this version is better than 18 and 19.—from a hitting standpoint.
Pitching wise.... definitely needs some adjustments. Way too many perfect releases going right down the middle. I’d rather it miss way off the plate than float down the middle lol.
-
I find it really annoying that kyle has to always say he's top _ in the world. Like dude we get it your good that doesnt mean your opinion is more or less valuable then everyone else opinion. I know he's been like that for years but often just stream rolls his opinion on everyone because "Im a top _ player in the world, and my opinion is more vaulable than everyone elses"

For those who are interested in what the top players have to say about the game, here is a clip from the #1 player in the world explaining his thoughts. I'm interested to know what everyone thinks of this.
I agree with some of his points but disagree with other points. There is a skill gap to a degree, but I don't think the game is in a good place. He does acknowledge the excessive good/okays, but I feel like he's saying he's okay with hitting in its current state, which I disagree with. Also disagree with what he said about pitching. He's right about the reduced foul balls on very early/very late swings, but he also mentioned that if you locate your pitches, you'll be fine, and its just simply not possible to locate pitches.
What do you guys think? Please watch the whole video if you're gonna comment
When you get free stuff from SDS and or make your living off this game of course your gonna talk good about it he doesn't have a choice..And if your doing well the way the game is why say anything bad at all
-
He is an outlier due to him being able to square up pretty much any pitch. Just as those whom cant square up anything are outliers. This game is what it is and that is not very good. When few can complete show down, and it's worth 70 points, that leaves a lot to be desired. When I square up just enough that I should be able to handle, at least, the pc on hof. Yet get good/ okay while the pc throws dots that's not very good. When you get perfect release yet it leaks over the heart of the plate that is not very good. Hate to disagree with the greatest thing walking but this game is not in a good place.
-
Kinda ironic. People were all pointing to him, saying he's the top, he is one of the most qualified to comment on the state of the game. But as soon as he reverses, his opinion doesn't matter.
It's almost like people said those things because they wanted clout that their opinions were right. "Look the top player says it to!", but now that he's softened those same people trash him.
I don't think the game is in a good place, don't get me wrong, I just think the hypocrisy is laughable.

Yeah I think some people just wanna feel validated in their opinion. Kyle's opinion is valid, just as everyone else's opinion is also valid, but I'm not changing my opinion on the game just because he has. It's still very bad imo

who cares. He's one of those who gave input to make the game the trash bag it is at its current point. If the current state of the game is how its going to be going forward people are going to abandon it.
And this is exactly right..They only listen to those that mean the most in advertising their game and help bring SDS money in..Plus he gets free stuff like most of the top MLB Show guys get..It's not hard not to bite the hand that feeds you..But if they patch this and make the playing field more level he'll have more than 4 losses..I'm not saying he isn't good because he is he has just overcome what most can't.Skill does make up for a lot of it but he also got the best cards from the rip by spending $1500 to obtain some of them..He would rage and curse the game a lot in 19 I watch his videos he's no saint to complaining but as of now he doesn't need to and he keeps reminding us of that as #1 for now..

I agree, I've just been pretty vocal in the past about my disdain for taking top players opinions and putting them on a pedestal. I'd rather form my own opinion (and my opinion is that the game is pretty meh, too much inconsistency in hitting) I've had people tell me that their voices matter the most because they know the game the best, so this thread is funny to me.

He is one player of hundreds of thousands who play this game. It doesn't matter what his opinion is, unless you are someone who must be told what to think because you can't formulate your own opinion. His opinion would be no better nor worse than my opinion. I am one of hundreds of thousands of players and another player's opinion isn't better/worse than any other player's opinion.

I agree my man, but I am interested in hearing opinions from people of all different skill levels. The main point of this post was to spark some discussion

A lot of parrots in the world today. Can't form there own opinion on anything. Not just on this game but pretty much everywhere. They can repeat what they've heard some youtuber say.

I have zero issue with the pitching right now. At launch it was terrible
