Dead controller

My wireless controller died mid pitch, pitcher tossed a FB right over the middle of the plate, opponent crushed it for a 3 run homer before I could grab my other controller. Anyone k ow how to avoid this?

If playing with the controller plugged in is an option I would recommend that. I forget which exact setting it is but once you change the usb setting it gives slightly less input lag as well.
