I win about 10% of the games I play vs the CPU on 'All-Star'....I'd have no shot on HOF!
Against the CPU, honestly, get a couple speed guys (Milestone Lofton, Gold Strange-Gordon, Program Ozzie) and play small ball. People freak out about bunt cheese online but I'm an offline player so IMO, all bets are off. I play CPU like I would if I'm coaching my 14 and 15 year old players in a real game

I use normal swing 99% of the time. Sometimes I'll use power swing in moments or against the CPU on lower difficulties if I'm trying to hit a homerun since the PCI is already big. Contact swing I'll sometimes use with 2 strikes, or if I'm trying to bloop one in with a contact/speed guy between the infielders and outfielders. I feel like guys like 84 Dee Gordon with good contact and really lower power have a tendency to hit the ball right to the outfielders with normal swing when you square it up.
I think the main issue people have with contact swing is that it's supposed to be like you're fighting off the pitch. If you make contact, it shouldn't have much power behind it even if you square it up. For some reason this year the ball still flies if you square it up with a contact swing, which is an issue in online play since you can basically have a larger PCI and still drive the ball.

In theory, Contact swing makes the PCI bigger at the cost of power. Power swing makes the PCI smaller and boosts power.
Some online players hate contact swings but you are playing offline only so pay no attention to them.

I have been playing this game for years and I just learned from this post that there is 3 swings and I am in shock. I thought it was just X and square. And I thought people all along complaining about "contact" swings were complaining about people using X (which I do a decent amount of the time) and I never understood what everyone was complaining about. Now it turns out there is a O swing that is "contact" and my mind is freaking blown lol

Feel like such a moron but oh well haha I was like why is everyone being such babies about people using X to swing I don't get it. Now I know they meant O and apparently it has super powers according to the people on these forums
