How is Michael Brantley not a Diamond Player? He is hitting .322 and is an All Star. Sure, he only has 5 homers. Realmuto is hitting .261 with 8 HR, Corey Seager is hitting .265 with 4 HR and is on the DL, Albies is hitting .263 with a lower OPS than Brantley. Ramon Laureano is hitting .241 with a lower OPS. And if its Power that makes the difference, what about Jesse Winker, also an All Star and he has 19 HR and is hitting .301. As compared to Gallo who just went diamond with 4 more HR and 62 points lower batting average, and a lower OPS.

You are comparing apples to oranges. Cards have 3 categories, hitting, defence, and running. If you are only good at one of those your overall can only get so high. Also, and the biggest mistake in comparison you are making, is the position difference. Cannot compare a hitter playing 1st base stats to a hitter playing CF.

Gallo has been mashing the ball but he got way too big of a jump. The others make no sense as Winkler is basically a close of Castellanos

Castellanos can hit both righties and lefties and has slightly better defense.

    Brantley: corner OF

    Realmuto: C
    Seager: SS
    Albies: 2B
    Laureano: CF

You can get away with a lower avg/power if you're providing gold-glove caliber defense at a premium position.
    Brantley isn't.
