DD gameplay review this year

SDS has done a great job in many areas, but I doubt some of the obvious issues with gameplay will be fixed this year. It is close to 3 months into the game. Rolling this game out during Covid-19 and supporting all the new consoles was very ambitious so I hope they fix some of the issues for MLB 22 and hire more devs.
This is my subjective opinion. Hopefully, the issues get noticed if many players feel the same way.
The good:
-Content and providing timeline for content
-Live roster updates
-Developed a new pitching mechanism that has way less RNG than in years past
-Different game modes in DD
-Players can be competitive even with no money spent accounts and can obtain all the cards they want throw grinding
-Created stadiumsThe bad:
-Servers (semi fixed since the amount of players decreased)
-Submarine pitchers that throw 100mph cutters and RFB. I don't think anyone has ever done been able to in real life.
-Inconsistent roster updates and ratings. Ohtani took forever to go diamond while Vlad gets upgraded in two updates. Kyle Gibson is still a 76 silver, but Gausman is an 86 diamond. If it is no longer a 3 year average, then apply it consistently. SDS handing out diamonds is like Oprah's Christmas show and inflates Trout to like 500K+.The ugly:
-Gameplay freezes and xp glitches (semi-fixed)
-PCI feedback is not accurate or hitting is completely broken. I use the PCI feedback to set up pitches and sometimes it doesn't even make sense.
-Contact swing makes BR infuriating once you get to 9+ wins and go against contact swing machine. People fouling off 10 pitches in the dirt or thrown at their head and then hitting a bomb with circle does not make a lot of sense. BR is the main mode for many players such as myself. Make it HOF if contact swing doesn't change. -
Ohtani took as long as he did because he is a pitcher in game. How do ppl not understand this?
-
It infuriates me how long and slow outfielders and cut off men are throwing the ball while runners are gaining extra bases. Also cannot stand how every throw home in the green, even when there is no white line to get a perfect throw, ends up on the first base side and the catcher as a result leans right to catch it and never tags out the runner at home if it is a close play.

Troglodytes !

The game isn't perfect, but they fixed hanging pitches and check swings, which were my biggest complaints last year.

You think Ohtani is a pitcher? That is just their set default that they should fix. Why are you comparing him to another pitcher? You must be living under a rock. 80% of the WAR in his career in the MLB is from hitting.
-
Tag animations are terrible. Tag a player out 2 feet from the base but is called safe as well as being safe and getting called out especially at first and home.

I forgot this. Base running AI can be infuriating too.

Which is why his LS card… that is a PITCHER… would take longer to go Diamond.
If his LS was an OF he would’ve been Diamond within the first couple of updates like Vlad. Vlad went Diamond initially because he switched from 3B to 1B. Same thing would’ve happened with Ohtani if they switched his position.
Ohtanis insane hitting doesn’t translate to a boosted pitcher card. Maybe understand how ratings effect certain positions.

You obviously have problems reading... When you think of Ohtani, you think of the lights out ace or the insane hitter? He is a hitter first that can pitch. His card should reflect that. He has pitched a grand total of 67 innings this year but has had more than 300 ABs. The ABs are very close to what Vlad has as well. Numbers seem to be difficult for you too.

What did I misread? Also why does it matter what the hell his LS is? The ratings are the same. It’s literally just the difference of him have a Diamond on his card or not.

So you should have indicated that he should have been a hitter instead of a pitcher in your opening post. You clearly have problems with general communication. You can probably take some remedial distance education courses to help with that.

This is the summary:
Me: Why isn't Ohtani diamond base on upgrades?
You: Because he is a pitcher DUH? Why are you so thick?
Me: I think based on statistics he is a hitter first.
You: You need to be better at communication.Ok man you win this argument. Have a good day man. You didn't find anything wrong with my Kyle Gibson post too right? He has taken a few ABs in his career so maybe he didn't get upgraded because he could be a hitter.

Sure you are correct and win this argument as well. My bad for using "a few" ABs as an example. Game lists him as a SP, good to know that is correct.

It’s just not really worth explaining anymore if you can’t understand how Ohtani and Gibson aren’t comparable in this scenario
-
They list Ohtani has a SP, so hit hitting upgrades don't boost him to a Diamond. I think that is what people were getting at. I don't believe it was a debate about whether he should be regarded as an SP or Hitter.

Contact swings are so broken that the CPU is exploiting it on Legend difficulty, lol. The PCI size for the cpu on Legend look like mine if I play on Veteran… it’s unreal the amount of bs the cpu hits out of the park

What they are saying, and now I will say, is that it does not matter whether you or I consider him a pitcher or an outfielder/hitter. What matters is that, as far as SDS is concerned, he is a pitcher first in MLB The Show. He could have 100 HRs at the end of the season but that won't boost his card at all if he is a Pitcher as far as the game is concerned.
He's had a POTM outfield card that was a diamond and I have little doubt that we will see several other higher rated version of him this year.
