How to hit the sinker

Please, can someone explain how to hit this pitch? I'm tired of losing games 3-0, 1-0 because Edward Cabera is God. Whenever you actually get good contact nothing happens because the pitcher has full confidence. Any tips on this stupid pitch on hall of fame? Or else gonna have to retire because I can't take it anymore.

Yea it sux man. Edward is by far the worse. Just whiff after whiff. I legit just quit when I see him. I don’t care. I haven’t figured him out and those games are boring af so free win for you

2 things you can do is. Sell out and guess sinker early or lay off that pitch completely

If you're going to do that, I would recommend making him throw an inning first so he gets his stamina nerfed for the next game and the guy has to use someone else.

What you do is move the PCI to were the ball is being pitched and then swing.

Anyone who blames pinpoint pitching as a nerf for hitting is a bad hitter. Prior to MLB 18, when we started getting the magical hanging breaking balls that got worse in 19 and 20, your pitches went where they were supposed to go with meter and analog pitching too. Was hitting harder then? Yes. That's because you can locate pitches and not be force fed bad pitches.
Instead of knowing the game will eventually give me a hanger if I just watch pitches and foul off tough stuff, people have to actually swing and try to hit tough pitches. Hitting should be hard and should not be rewarded by the game saying "this seems like a good time to leave a well released changeup or slider dead center." Dinger!
I'm not a good hitter and my avg is actually a little better online than it was last year. Do sinkers have unrealistic movement up in the zone? Yes. That's not the fault of pinpoint, that's the stupid way the pitch is designed to move in the game. SDS knows and does nothing. It's why they make videos with the Dev team and laugh about and troll the community.

I play in a league on legend most of the time. Nice burn attempt though. Even at higher difficulties it's not pinpoint that's the issue. It's just showing that people getting hangers in previous years made hitting easier.

Pinpoints not the issue...its the fact the ball seemingly jumps out of his hand and his 100 mph sinker is really 190mph. I find Dibble's fastball to be the same way. It says 102 but it really feels twice as fast.

Agree! 100%. Pitch movement on sinkers is unrealistic. It was last year and still is this year. I think they made other pitches like sliders and curves have a sharper break this year too, especially on higher difficulties. This makes hitting and picking up sinkers even harder this year.

The first time around I take a lot of pitches to see how my opponent is pitching. Players have a tendency of pattern. Then you can sit on a pitch in a certain location and if you guess the location correctly and can time it up, Boom. Trying to figure opponent pitching pattern and force to throw in the zone helps. I had a good night last night, I won 7 and loss 2 or 3. Got up to WC, I think only 3 of those games went 9 innings. Make sure when pitching mix your pitches good, find the weak spot of your opponent. Keep them guessing, If they start hitting a location time to switch it up. For High sinker start with the PCI where you think the sinker is being pitched. Take a strike. Especially if opponent is throwing out of the zone a lot.

This gm simply is not fun on HOF at least for me,especially when u have to face cabrera 90 % of the time,I've been playing the show forever n this is the first time I'm having so much trouble hitting on HOF,I know some of u say ALL STAR is a slugfest but in my opinion is way more fun,just my 2 cents

My games on AS are not slugfest. I am at best a .200 hitter online but My ERA this year is .0.67 and whip is 0.66. Most of my Games do not go 9 innings.

I’m simply saying no reasonable amount of practice will get the average person to hit these guys on a consistent basis. Cabrera’s sinker is so gross on hof+ It’s necessary to sell out to have a chance of putting it in play.

I’ll make a deal with you. “Practice” for as long as you need, we’ll jump in a friendly game on legend and I can ONLY throw sinkers and 4seamers and see if you change your mind

I understand that, You can practice on HOF and Legend against Cabrera and that sinker change the settings all the way up, when you can hit t he speeds with it all the way up, I think that can help. You can even set the location of the pitch in practice. For some it will up for other probably not. For me I do not use practice mode very often. I know it has help other people get better at hitting. My biggest problem is swinging at to many pitches out of the zone. Recently I been doing a better job at that. I will never claim to be good at hitting in this game until I am. With how I can pitch, and the recent addition of some players to my team I am hitting better. It is also about using hitters you can hit with not always the best hitters in the game.
