Who bought this game as a simulation of baseball

If you find baseball boring why would you even buy a baseball game?? What the actual [censored].
I question if 3/4 of this board even like baseball as a sport.
-
Real life baseball game as much as possible, with user control of course being a big part, but hitting should be a simulation, higher rated batters should make a difference even when squaring up... Pitching should be accurate, higher rated pitchers even more accurate...

That’s not what I meant. I’m talking about how slow paced it can be. You know normally games are 3-2 1-3 2-4 scores when games are done. Most people like me don’t want a video game to be a simulation of a real life baseball game

Most of us love baseball. But if we want to watch baseball, we are going to watch baseball. If we want to play baseball, we will play beer league softball or something. This is a video game. We want our input to matter. If that is at the expense of the opponent, then they need to get better. Pitching needed fixed. Hitting was fine as it was

100% a real life simulation is the way to go for baseball. that's why the Show is awesome, it's a fair simulation to actual baseball play. if you want to run up the score 21-0, you can do that, but fans of actual baseball might find that to actually be the boring aspect.
-
I actually think this question is a good one for folks to think about - and what they want out of the game and if they are its intended audience. The Show is officially licensed by MLB, and if MLB and the MLBPA have their names attached to it, I'd bet there is a good chance that they want this to be as close to a simulation as possible. I've seen a lot of people wanting SDS to change hitting and/or pitching, but a likely reality is that these changes could make the game behave less like a simulation; and that there are things SDS is bound by via the licensing agreement to ensure the game works as a simulation and they are tailoring instead to the large collection of data they have based upon all users to meet this.

I never mentioned anything about the state of the game.

Not directly, but people wanting simulation caused the state of the game to be the way it is

I don't need a SIM game but I bought this game based off my experience with the beta.
I feel like SDS has done a bait and switch on me lol

Big ol facts!! Yesterday a thread had a post about Yankee stadium and its glare, then shadows later on..SDS nailed that. Been to hundreds of games at both Old & new Yank Stadium..The shadows are legendary, along with glare at both Ruth and Jeters respective houses..SDS goes along way to nail those little intangibles..A bunch agreed with dude which shows me they do not know baseball except in video game form.Like players dont wear eye black and most stadiums have a batters eye for both ball the white people and shirts but also because of sun glare.

Nope.

Really?? Is the OP serious?
I love everything about baseball even the pace, I grew up with the game watching the Jays & Expos with my dad.
I still find enjoyment in this baseball sim.
