MLB The Show online multiplayer

I hope this is the right place to ask this.

I have an Xbox Live acct and a One S, and MLB The Show 21. MLB The Show 21 says it has "Online multiplayer (2-8)".

I know myself and guests can play on Halo on same console online against others online, but how can I play with guests on same console online on The Show?

Basically, my son and I want to know how to play The Show online together against others.

Lol, prior to launch these so called longtime players influencers were all excited about the 2-8 online when that has always been home run derby smh
