Agreed. I bought him from the market when trying to finish up collections to get Rivera. I figured I’d at least try him out, and he’s been in my bullpen ever since.

Full disclosure: I only play offline so him tipping his pitches doesn’t affect me.

You've been playing people who don't know the tell on him tipping his pitches. Once you run into someone who does know, he'll get destroyed for obvious reasons.

Yeah, well they still have to hit it if they know whatever is coming.
I just bought him recently and play offline as well, so we're safe 😜

True, but most people pitch extremely predictable. Meaning hard stuff in, offspeed away. That way it becomes easy to hit whatever pitch you see he selected. And if you notice your opponent likes to do the opposite and throw hard away and slow inside, you adjust. Either way the ball will fly.

This is actually why I'm pretty aggressive on pitching fastballs high and away, people don't really throw or look for it. A lot of people can't adjust from my experience

Or when pitching the corners all game, every so often throw one right down the middle 🤣

Oh really? In my experience that pitch always gets crushed, and I also always crush them myself. The motion of the thumb to that part of the zone is very natural and quick and you have more time to react to it because it goes to the opposite side of the plate. Lefty lefty is a bit harder, but righty on righty I think that's one of the easier pitches to hit.

So far it's worked pretty well. 9-1 on the current season with a 1.53 ERA and 0.63 WHIP. 50-21 with a 2.92 ERA and 0.88 WHIP Overall

Though I haven't had as much time to play this year, so this is High 600-Mid 700 level, haven't played enough to make WS yet

Well if it works it works, and those numbers seem to suggest it works so I'd keep doing it.

I know what's coming and still can't hit him. Slider is like a wiffle ball pitch to me.

You can tell when the time is right to bring him on. If you’re SP sliders aren’t fooling the oppo then do not bring in O Day.

His ERA for me is about 2.5 and he is nearly at parallel 3. He is decent. Just avoid the sinker.

I really wish they had separate forums for online/offline players. So many times I’ll read a compelling reason to pick up a player only in a future post to see “Oh yeah, I only play against the cpu on rookie” 😂

No offense, but that is ridiculous.
How about one for vaccinated and non, while we're at it? 🤣
If there is no separate forum for Microsoft & Sony, how could SDS possibly pull off separate forums for on and offline?
Just because we play the CPU doesn't mean we do on Rookie, although I have for stat grinds.
