Hitting on all-star is harder than HOF was last year
-
I was just saying this last night. All star is crazy right now online. I practice offline on hall of game and legend against gerrit Cole and Blake snell and any of the good live pitchers and I do incredible , but then I get into a ranked seasons game On all star and I’m somehow behind fastballs that I’m literally selling out on early to hit. It doesn’t make any sense.

I would say it's more likely you're players aren't as good as they were last year. Given that the game is a week old, that's to be expected.
Hitting on HOF with a team full of 99s is easier than hitting on allstar with a mixed team of diamonds and golds.

I completely agree. Also am I the only one noticing that Perfect-Perfect isn't working properly right now? I just played a RS game and hit a Perfect-Perfect fly ball with 99 Reggie Jackson and it was caught before the warning track! The guy has 115 power vs. Righties and can't hit it out of Rogers Centre lol

I think hitting on all star is still too easy. Home runs are flying out like crazy. Had a ranked season game on all star recently that was 14-16. Extra innings in 3 inning event games were common last year as it wasn’t always easy to score in 3 innings, now scoring 5 or more in event games isn’t uncommon.

That has been the polar opposite of my experience since the patch. Pre-patch, absolutely, but now it feels like pitch speeds have doubled, the timing window is jacked up, and input is all screwy. I made CS 4 times last year and WS once, I’m not elite by any stretch but am a fairly decent player. Right now playing is just not fun and I have no intention of playing online until they fix it

Besides hitting taking a knock, Ive found it hard to get a read on pitches coming in and I’m late on almost everything. Pre-patch 1.04 I was early but still able to adjust my timing and get hits. Something just feels way off since the last patch. The game feels broken on so many levels.

Yeah the ball goes no where and I’m getting way more good squared or perfect perfect line outs..... not to mention all the warning track shots on with great pci feedback. Good timing but ok contact when pci is right on the ball

Pre patch hitting was so easy that to me the game just wasn’t as fun. Everyone scored every single inning, most of the time multiple runs. I like a challenge and really enjoy the tension in low scoring pitchers duels. I know it’s an unpopular opinion, but the patch did improve the game, at least for me. There’s still work to do though obviously. Like I said, I still think hitting is very easy, at least on all star. Fastballs up which were very hard to hit in 19 (and in real life baseball) are not a good idea against most opponents. I have faced some who can’t hit them at all but most players crush them, unless used very sparingly. I am hitting over .400 with several people online, hitting well over .300 with everyone, and around .500 with Yellich. For me, hitting needs to be harder. Maybe better pitch accuracy will help, I’m not sure. Last year if I had someone hitting .350 online, that felt like something. Now if they were below that I would replace them.
On pitch accuracy I have never had pitches with perfect releases go down the middle. But I will say hitting spots is very hard this year, if you miss at all (using analog) the pitch will miss by a lot, usually catching too much plate. In my years of online play I have never experienced the whole perfect pitch going somewhere random thing others talk about. Except one even where guess pitch was on, and it caused a glitch that everyone was experiencing. I do hope pitch accuracy can improve though. I’m really struggling to put sliders down and away consistently, that’s been the hardest for me.Defense is another thing, to me it is not playing as good as 19. Defense really mattered in 19. Here I have Yellich and Granderson in the outfield running everything down. I think defense should matter more like last year. However I think catcher defense has made great strides since last year.

I haven’t lost since the patch, but I still don’t like the nerf on perfect and squared hits. Pitching is too punishing soemtimes, but I’ve managed somehow. I think my era is a little over one in RS, one game I gave up 5 but it was on Texas leaguers and poor fielding.... which gets to fielding. The fielding for OF is sluggish even if you have a good fielder. It seems that if they aren’t diamond fielding they suck and all
Of them run in quicksand and lollipop to the ball when they need to be moving like a pack of
Hell hounds is nipping at their heels -
I have played well post patch as well but still have trouble pitching at times exsp on all star. Hall of fame seems to play better as far as less offensive explosions but have played limited games on hall of fame. Fielding is def frustrating. Have had a few of the outfielders not locking onto balls and one where he did lock on but the ball just went right through him. But I also have a problem when someone has jd Martinez in cf and he runs down everything in the gaps. Last year having anything below a gold fielder in the outfield was scary at best. This year I have bronze and even commons out there at times and don’t really see as big of a difference as I should. Defense should matter, exp at cf, and ss. People like Ozzie Smith and Jim Edmonds should be at least options as end game cards just off of defense. I don’t think elite defenders save enough runs in this game. Makes it an easy choice to pick run producers instead of run preventers. I would like to see that choice made harder.

What? I’ve had the opposite. My fielders are trash unless they have a gold and the gold seems average. Below gold and they have awful jumps and almost all levels loligag to the ball
