I’m attempting to do the Mays Conquest map but am finding it pretty challenging. On a couple attempts, by the time I’ve beat one of the nearby strongholds, other teams have completely cut off my supply lines, and I’m a sitting duck. Is this just the way this conquest map is, or should I keep restarting until I get a more complacent map?

Restart. Make your way up to Seattle taking a line that is 2 spaces thick. That should really help. Seattle should be the first stronghold you conquer.

I had a little difficulty at first. Just get as many territories as you can at first, reinforcing a couple of times. Then just start reinforcing your existing territories over and over again to keep up with the surrounding opponents. Try to keep your territories within 1-2 fans of their's so they don't attack. As you add fans to your territories, you're still building your fanbase, so your reinforcement number will continue to grow. Then you'll be able to start attacking the other territories. Play a lot of the strongholds on Veteran until you can take a large portion of the map.

I don't know if any of that made sense haha.

I almost never make a beeline from one stronghold to another. I grab chunks of the map, usually grabbing lines that are at least a couple of hexes wide to try and eliminate that issue. But it will occasionally happen. You goal should be to really take all of the territory on the maps and not just strongholds.

Many players will actually sim and grab all of the non-stronghold territories before they even play any stronghold games.

Oh and make sure you try and keep a couple layer of buffer around your stronghold and don't forget to add a few reinforcements to it.

Thanks for all the feedback. Maybe I’ll do a spiral around my initial stronghold and take other strongholds as they come. I definitely agree that making a B line for other strongholds doesn’t seem to work.

I take out Minnesota and then Colorado taking out all of their territory and from there I go west for teams likes Arizona/LA Dodgers/ San Francisco. Let the east take it's self out. although I normally have to face the Yankees or Redsox at least 5/6 times.

Steal some fans early on a few times helps too.

Haha. When I beat it last week I had to play the Red Sox like 10 times.

I’m about to scrap this. I noticed that when every team makes their first move, they each have 6 fansin the next block as well as 6 in their initial stronghold whereas I move out with 5 and leave one in my stronghold. I tried making a perimeter, but I am just getting overwhelmed. These jerks are not taking each other out; they are all coming for me. If I do try this again, I might try stealing like 100 million fans from everybody before doing anything else.

Yes. Spiral and fill out the northSouth Dakota areas and go for Seattle ( I normall take Colorado first but Seattle second) put an extra fan in your strongholds at first to ensure they don’t attack it. The. After Seattle I start down the coast but sometimes Arizona gets annoying so I take them out before I get to San Diego. Just depends on how aggressive they are

Oh and don’t forget to fill out all of the west between Cali and your main hold. Once you have like 40+ reinforcements it’s all downhill from there

Ive done this 3 times already. Surround yourself of those empty spaces then make your way towards the top and to the left, take over rockies and their areas, and make your way to Seattle and down the west coast. You don't need to steal any fans at all. Every stronghold game after the rockies, i save for after ive simmed every space on the map.

Yeah that always bugged me too. I'm guessing the explanation is they're stealing legend level fans or something.
