Anyone remember Calecovision baseball? Or the three (I think it was three) man defensive unit that moved in unison on the Atari 2600?

Back when I had to walk uphill in the snow both ways just to play a baseball video game, it never occurred to me that we’d one day be complaining about unrealistic sinkers, nerfed exit velocity and bad launch angles… you kids don’t know how good you have it.

My Dad had a couple of old games that I played when I was younger. Strat-o-matic, electronic baseball, and this beauty that I haven't seen since I was a little kid:

I had this and loved it. Lou Whitaker and Alan Trammell were good in it. That's coming from a real deal Yank fan at that. The fastballs used to blink like crazy. Wow talk about a blast from the past. Great post brother.

Agreed but Sports Talk Baseball on the Genesis was heavier gold. RBI 3 was my fav if we are talking that franchise.

My first was on the Atari vcs......never played the intellivision....apart from years later on emulator....this game was pretty good for its day.....makes me laugh though people mention getting bad outcomes on here from p/p hits being caught etc.....I swear those 8bit games you wouldn’t barely get a hit and the cpu would hit homeruns pretty much every AB ....might have been because I was a kid but still lol

Anybody here play Tony Larussa Baseball on the Genesis? That was the first baseball game I played that was more of a true simulation experience. I appreciated all the stats it allowed for.

Im curious what didn't you like about it?

That was the first game that had the flyball shadow that showed how high/where the ball path was, as well as wind influencing flight path of the ball. Now every baseball game has those, but it was innovation at the time. I also liked how it let you choose to play in, shallow, deep, shift, and all the defensive alignments that other games didnt.
