Lol this game f’ing sucks. I didn’t even look at the pictures. Whoever does game play needs to be fired immediately and find another line of work.

Go take a look at it lol, the homerun was total nonsense. This game “competitive” setting doesn’t work as advertised.

Competitive mode is likely the issue with everything.

I have been trying to figure out the differences between simulation mode and competitive mode but I can't seem to figure it out.
What I have mostly found that is in competitive mode, most stats just don't matter, and everything is RNG.
You can line up a perfect/perfect and 1 is a fly out and next is a grand-slam.

In simulation mode hitting and pitching stats seem to make a difference, until you use pinpoint pitching and then stats don't matter anymore, if you hit the timing window perfect, it's perfect regardless if you are a level 99 or level 49.

All online h2h games are supposed to be defaulted to competitive.

I love this game and I hate this game. I don’t have confidence in SDS ever getting it right. It might come down to implementing a new hitting engine at some point, but how many bugs and issues will that have out of the box?? They have had this one for years and still have issues with it. My only hope is with the game expanding to Xbox and more money coming in, they might be able to hire more qualified people who can actually fix this game.

They do, unfortunately competitive mode may just be broken...

know it’s like real ball, but this is a video game

It’s a baseball video game, which should pretty much play like baseball… I’d love to see some real, MLB data on how many outs are generated from balls put in play from pitches in the middle of the zone. I’d bet vital parts of my anatomy that there are [censored] tons of them, and, yet, I don’t hear a lot of complaining from major leaguers about how unrealistic/unfair/odd that is.

I can’t see the OP’s angles on the first, but looks like the others are line drives at 18 degrees… line drives often get caught. In a game where the AI assigns loft producing bat angles more often than not for PCI users, I’d expect more likely be drives getting caught than in reality, or we’d see an even more unrealistic, arcade style hitting results…

Unfortunately this is the way the games gonna be and it’s not gonna improve. Just gotta take all online games with a grain of salt and not have too high of an expectation.

I know the intention was to make stick skills matter more this year, but I don't see it. This is the only game i can ever remember that is less fun to play online H2H than play against the cpu. The DD mode is great, but online still has a long ways to go. All The Show fanboys say Madden is terrible with glitches, but MUT is 10x more competitive than this.... no average player is beating me in Madden, period... and this game is always random... i win games when my opponent is better and lose games when im better... kinda is a joke.

Id get homers on them except maybe the thome one would slice foul or clank the foul pole, but then against cpu stick skills seem to work properly.
Does this difference in results because of connection?
and if they abandoned p2p connection and had the dedicated servers ppl have asked for the game would play closer to vs cpu and the results would match more closely?

The problem is they advertised stick skills reign supreme and I got rewarded for the worst input, I complain about this a lot, that should’ve never been a homerun…

Edit: I should say bad input, not the wort because it wasn’t even good input.

Line drives in MLB (real life) have roughly a .600 average, so yes I think we should see that in the show. The batting average on all balls put in play in baseball is roughly .300 year in year out (we don’t get anywhere near that either).

Exactly. I stay bringing up launch angles to the people on this forum but yet they still don't get it. Pretty easy to understand IMO. Also if they watch the game or even ESPN they talk about launch angles.

Been saying launch angle last year and this year to these people, except last year I explained as getting under the ball and lifting it. This season the angle is shown for every ball hit, both fair and foul yet they still don't get it 😒

There's a reason BABIP isn't displayed under a player's advanced stats, everyone would revolt at seeing mendoza line averages on balls in play. It's really as simple as going back to 16/17's engine where input mattered more and we didn't see all these lineouts and weak bloop hits

If they rewarded everything then good players would hit 500 consistently

    Type AVG ISO wOBA
    GB .239 .020 .220
    LD .685 .190 .684
    FB .207 .378 .335

Line drives don't normally get caught. Almost 7 out of 10 are a hit.

its not the good good outs the drive people up the wall its like you said that's baseball sometimes.... its the ball nowhere near the pci homeruns combined with good good outs that drive me and others insane!
