just curious how you guys come to these conclusions on who its gunna be???

SDS release clues in social media

The first clue stated that the first reward was a former AL MVP card and was accompanied by a photo that showed the A's stadium and what appeared to be a Twins Jersey.

The card turned out to be Vida Blue Milestone no hitter. Fun fact his no hitter was against the twins and Blue won an AL MVP.

The 2nd clue stated the player was a former NL Rookie of the year and the picture is clearly of the Indians stadiums. The 2 players that fit this clue are Rafael Furcaul and David Justice. Both NL Rookie of the years and played for the Indians.

Furcal did not play for the Indians. Frank Robinson did though. I think Robinson and Justice are the only 2 that fit

Frank robinson would be a bigger deal than this in my opinion.

You would think so, but the majority of people that play this game and follow social media have almost no idea who Frank Robinson is so who knows. I think Justice is more likely but Robinson surely is possible

That is absolutely sad. When I was growing up, he was 4th on the all time HR list. It was Aaron 755, Ruth 714, Mays 660, Robinson 586. Pretty much anyone who followed baseball could tell you those #s back then. I still have them memorized to this day

To me, that is extremely sad that so many people wouldnt know who he was.

Mays would be the best player in every era he was in, I think a lot people think Trout is better is because he has an easier swing to hit with in MLB the show and he’s the current top player.

I think a lot of people think Trout is AS talented as Mantle/Mays, which is true.

The only question is whether Trout stays healthy enough to put up the longevity stats.

It really is sad, but it's also the truth. As I said above most of these peoples knowledge about baseball history comes through DD cards. There were quite a few that didn't know who Honus Wagner was until the 19 collection. And many others just knew him as an expensive baseball card, not one of the greatest players of all time. Part of it has to do with how poorly MLB markets it's players over the years. To a casual observer they probably think Tatis and Acuna are better than Trout for how often San Diego and Atlanta play on Sunday night baseball and stuff like that. Frank Robinson is one of the greatest players of all time, but playing his best years in Cincinnati and Baltimore didn't help his cause

    MLB are poor marketers:

That said, I'm not sure that's the best piece of evidence you can use to demonstrate that. Tatis & Acuna are good, young, dynamic, and their teams are in contention. That's pretty much the blueprint for "players you want the league to focus on." Trout, for all his gifts, has consistently languished at the bottom of the standings thus making his games less compelling and not worth airing.

Well said man. I think it is a good thing though so gamers can be educated on players they have no idea about. A lot of guys just like playing UT games and not a super fan of the sport so the more we can educate them the better. I learned a lot about Larry Doby last year cause I was somewhat oblivious

I agree with you on the majority of this. It's also why I bring up older players that I believe should be in the game so often. It's a great opportunity for younger people to learn about them.
